Wrist Corsages

August 2nd, 2010 @ 1:59 pm by Mrs. Socks

Remember how much I swooned over this?

Well, I wanted to get wrist corsages for the moms, but then I thought… what about Grandmas? And what about FSIL Socks? Suddenly, going from 2 wrist corsages at $54 each to 6 wrist corsages at $54 each was out of budget. So who did I turn to?

Our own Mrs. Poodle! I watched her craft her way through her own wedding in awe and contacted her through her Etsy shop, How Joyful. I put in a custom order for something similar to what I fell in love with on Emersonmade, and Mrs. Poodle put her own spin on the corsages and I LOVED them! In no time at all, Mrs. Poodle emailed me and told me they were finished! A couple of days later and they were on my doorstep.

Ready to see them?

Each wrist corsage came wrapped up safe and sound in tissue paper, and there was a cute card enclosed from Poodle!

Ahhh! They were absolutely PERFECT! I couldn’t get over the perfection that was these corsages! I needed to model it, but was having trouble tying it on myself. It was the middle of the day since I had gone home for lunch to discover these on my doorstep, so what else could I do but bring them into work and have my lovely coworkers model them for me?

Looking beautiful, ladies!

I love, love, LOVE them and I think they’ll look perfect for the moms, grandmas and FSIL Socks. Poodle was wonderful to work with and she’ll probably see a few more custom orders pop up from me—I love her work!

The little cream poofs are shedding a bit, so I’m trying to think of what I might be able to spray them with in order to keep the shedding to a minimum…some sort of shellac? I’ll have to ask Poodle before I do that. Do you have any ideas to get them to stop shedding?

How are you recognizing the special women in your life on your wedding day? Wrist corsage, little bouquets, a pin corsage, or something completely different?

Those are awesome! Way to go, Poodle. :)

As for the shedding, maybe something like this Fray Check stuff?

I’m not planning on having bridesmaids, but I did want a little something to designate those special ladies in my life. I’m thinking a flower for their hair, just attached with floral tape to a bobby pin. I need to develop this a bit further. Perhaps even different colors/flowers to signify how we’re connected (i.e.- give my sorority sisters my sorority’s flower for their hair.) and then probably something wrist corsage-y for the FMIL and my Momma. Perhaps something like this. These are lovely!

Very cute-and so much more practical than flower corsages since they’ll never wilt!

Love! you might be able to dilute fray check slightly and spray with a small spray bottle- do test first of course… don’t want to ruin these beauties!
