When Fiances Freak Out

August 3rd, 2010 @ 11:33 am by Mrs. Socks

When you see me make this:

Image from HERE. Recipe HERE.

Why yes. That is mozzarella, bacon, and sun-dried tomato stuffed bread rolled in butter, bacon grease and parmesan cheese.

And when you see me break this out:

You know there’s something up in the house. Because honestly, I wouldn’t make a 60 thousand calorie loaf of bread for nothing.

Mr. Socks had a rough day. He started freaking out about the wedding. Not cold-feet freak out, but a “OMG we’re getting super close and I have no idea what’s going on and what we’re doing and how we’re doing it and there’s too much to do and not enough time” sort of freak-out.

No matter what I said to try to calm him or however many times I asked him to tell me what exactly he was freaking out about (civil ceremony, bachelor party, invitations, attire and tasting our venue’s food happened to be a few things on his mind), he just couldn’t be consoled.

Trust me, I know what he felt like. I have many days where I’m so overwhelmed that I don’t even know where to start, so I could empathize. I asked him what I could do to help, and he said he wanted the bacon cheese bread, a bottle of pinot noir, my homemade tomato soup I’ve spent the weekend slaving over (from home-grown tomatoes) and he wanted to fold invitations.

So I said okay, sent him to the grocery store, and made the bread above while he folded invites and we sipped some wine. 3.5 hours later, the bread was finished and a bit later I had a full and happy fiance.

How yum does this look?

Mr. Socks likes it!

We talked a lot about the wedding, and I tried to answer his questions very specifically. We even folded a bunch of the invitations!

Has your fiance freaked out over the wedding once it started getting closer? How did you handle it?

And as a side note… seriously, this bread quite possibly performs miracles. There is nothing like it in the world and if you feed it to your man, he will surely love you forever and ever, bow down at your feet, and have a goofy grin on his face for a few hours.

Um, whatever you did to make your man freak out, could you send it my way? Less than 2 weeks until the wedding, tons to do, and McGroom will not freak out.

Our wedding is this Saturday and we had a freakout last weekend. Just stick to your timeline and only focus on the tasks you set out to do that week. :-) You’ll get through!
