Sattui Winery About Me: I'm an East Coast girl, living on a tiny little island in the Pacific, twirling, leaping, and shimmy-ing my way through life, and now, wedding planning! I'm equal parts nerdy and cool... okay, mostly nerdy. I love satin bows, red lipstick, black & white graphic anything, the shine of sequins and the sound of a champagne "pop". My favorite books are The Portrait of a Lady, by Henry James, and Tender is the Night, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I can also conjure a pretty good Patronus Charm. I started my appreciation for good red wine while traveling on the high seas, and it's only fitting that my passion for wine drinking led me to my Napa-bred honey. We bonded over bottles of Cabernet on my oceanfront porch and haven't looked back since. We're sealing the deal at a winery in the Napa Valley on a 'perfect ten' of a day!

Greetings from Guam! I am Miss Barrettes and I’m happy to share the joy of my wedding journey with you. I chose Barrettes not only because they are so darn cute, but also because as a dancer I know my way around a bobby pin. Bobby pins make their way into my shopping basket at least once a month and all 60 of them disappear into a black hole just as quickly.

The word ’Barrettes’ also looks like my soon-to-be last name, as there are similar repeating letters and letter structures. I’m a dork for letters!

Here in the Barrettes household we have Mr. Barrettes, who is forever poring over blueprints and building plans; Baby Barrettes, our Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix who is the most popular dog on Guam (he has his own Facebook page); and me, Miss Barrettes, planning our Napa wedding from 6,000 miles away. Pull up a chair, grab a glass of wine, and join me on my 10 week countdown to the big day!

Congratulations and welcome. We just had our wedding in Sonoma a couple of weeks ago, and we also planned the whole thing from afar (although not as far as you). So I can definately relate. Best of luck with your wedding planning. I’m looking forward to hearing more about it.

Welcome! We looked at V. Sattui for our wedding as well but ultimately decided on a different winery. It’s a GORGEOUS venue though.. I can’t wait to hear more about your plans for the big day!

One of my good friends is stationed in Guam with the Navy right now! I hear it’s quite beautiful there but also very muggy.
