About Mrs. Glasses

Did you know that Nordstrom does off-the-rack bridal dresses? J. Crew has been a great resource for brides who are looking to buy dresses outside of the traditional stores, but their dresses are still too pricey for me. Look at these great dresses I’ve been browsing on the Nordstrom website!

I am in love with the Max Azria dress. Looking forward to the dress you pick out!

Granted, I have no idea your size, but the first dress was being sold in the classifieds by bellebride in June. She may still have it. Just figured I’d let you know.

Sizes 4-18, 18W-28W, and only 99.95!

You could also shop for bridesmaid dresses that come in ivory or white. I’m in a wedding in October and that’s what the bride has done so far in addition to trying on at J. Crew. It’s a backyard wedding, so no real need for a train.

Umm you can add Momma Locket’s dress here too, since it is a bit bridal!

I looked into the BCBG one, and in person it was much more of a champagne color not a white or ivory. But if that’s what you’re looking for it’s gorgeous!

The first modern tiered BCBG dress is one of the most comfortable and flattering dresses I tried on. If I weren’t 6′1″ (about 4 inches too tall to wear that dress, it was too short!), I would have worn it. I LOVED it.

They weren’t available in-store where I live (Ohio), just to warn you. They did politely order it for me, and their return policy is great. I ended up not going with the dress I bought there, and they took it back.

I ended up buying a dress off UniqueVintage.com, and I looooves it. It was only $170 (plus another $125 in alterations).

I just went dress shopping for the first time this past weekend at a traditional bridal shop & it was wonderful! I think I may have found the dress & lucky for me I’ve been searching the internet and it’s easy to find elsewhere for probably a cheaper price!

Remember that if you can scrounge up an old student ID, JCrew gives you an extra 15% off! That’s a nice bonus on already somewhat reasonable wedding dresses.

The Limited just launched a wedding collection (bridesmaids and brides). There are only a couple of wedding gowns, but it’s worth a quick look! http://www.thelimited.com

I fell in love with the Max Azria with the black sash before I got engaged. Sadly, now that I have the ring on my finger and am looking for a dress, it can’t be found anywhere! :(
