Mrs. Gloss's Picture
Mrs. Gloss, Boston/Maine Age and Occupation: 24, Designer/soon-to-be Architect Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Systems Engineer Engagement Date: May 23, 2008 Wedding Date: August 2009 Venue: SS Katahdin/Lakeside Tent About Me: I don't like nickels or the skin that forms on pudding when it's in the fridge for too long. I couldn't live without Pantone markers, fountain soda (3/4 diet, ¼ regular Coke), run-on sentences, or ridiculously oversized sunglasses. I will try to DIY almost anything and am just OCD enough to make most of it work. I am truly excited about having all my family and friends together, becoming Mrs. Gloss, and having amazing photos to prove it!
About Mrs. Gloss

I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since our wedding; I promised myself I would finish my recaps before our first anniversary, so let’s wrap it up!

Last time we spoke (I know it was a long time ago) I left you with all our reception details and mentioned that we were patiently waiting outside the tent to be introduced as husband and wife.

Our parents and fabulous bridal party entered first. The music playing was the instrumental beginning to Angels & Airwaves - The Adventure.

… and then US! Mr. Gloss ushered me onto the dance floor where we had our first dance.

I kind of love the way he is looking at me in this photo:

Our first dance was Lovely Tonight, sung by Joshua Radin & Michelle Featherstone.

As people were starting to get dinner, we filled out the rest of the paperwork to make everything legal. As you can see in the first photo I’m clearly quite concerned about what our pastor (FIL Gloss) is writing—more like what he is writing with—as the paper clearly said BLACK INK ONLY.

Our witnesses, the best man and maid of honor, signed as we watched…

… and then it was REALLY REALLY official.

Which was cause for more champagne!

(and check out the Mr. fulfilling his husbandly duties of trying to keep me hydrated - it was HOT!)

Beautiful! I was just looking at your recaps today because I was looking for the name of the store that you purchased the plate stands from.

@llc2011: I’m not sure I ever noted it, but I bought them from The Christmas Tree Shop http://www.christmastreeshops.com/
I think they were ~$0.59/ea.

btw: i just re-read your “plan-a-holic” post and noticed the dance floor size was 12 x 15. i’ve read several sites that state 4-6 ft of dance space per person. i calculated (i’m a plan-aholic too) 400 sq ft for my 200 person guest list (given 50% dancing at any given time). i counted your seats (i swear i’m not a stalker) and you had 114 guests, but the dance floor seemed smaller than what “they” say you need for 50% of your guests. i hope i’m making sense. anyway, just wanted to know if you had enough dance space. thanks!
