Mrs. Ribbons's Picture
Mrs. Ribbons, Washington D.C./Bloomington, IN Age and Occupation: 23, Research Associate for an international development firm Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Proposal Coordinator for contractor Engagement Date: May 2, 2008 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: Indiana Memorial Union About Me: I'm an Indiana transplant living in DC with my fiance and our pretty kitty. I enjoy the color pink, I'm obsessed with the Dior New Look and tulle, and I heart my level 80 paladin. I'm a sucker for bad TV, literary theory, and cakes of all persuasion. I also happen to be marrying the cutest closet nerd around! It's all about Bloomington for us because it's where we met -- on the college paper. If there's a theme for our small summertime wedding, it's Dior meets Dorothy Draper on a lark in Bloomington; think poofy, plus graphic prints, bold colors, and a whole lot of prettiness.
About Mrs. Ribbons

Love in Bloom: A First Look and a Ton of Portraits : wedding bloomington pictures pro pics recap 4867113 01

After squeezing myself into the dress, we headed outside to a well-worn pathway to the Union. Then I nonchalantly stood by an iron gate. Of course.

Ribs was the looker in this scenario and I was the lookee.

He looked quite dapper and I was pleased.

After we finished making kissy face, we headed to a building we both spent far too much time during our college years. But first we stopped at a bulletin board, clean for the summer. In case we needed to share a ride or volunteer for Greenpeace, I suppose.

Finally, we completed a walk we had both done many, many times before: to Ballantine Hall.

This might be a little bit of portrait overload, but we love all of the Indiana limestone in these shots. It was just very nostalgic spending so much time on our campus. But it was also hot. My skirt was a furnace and we were all sweaty, drippy messes. So, we took shelter inside!

Before our bridal party joined us for portraits, we made some important phone calls.

Ribbons, I just can’t explain how much I love that photo of you and Mr. Ribbons in front of that portrait. I think I’ve looked at it 10 times since you first posted your teasers. I have no idea why, but I just love it.

All of your photos are amazing, though, and you are both so lovely!

LOVE your photos. As a fellow IU alum (and English major) I also spent too much time in Ballentine Hall. Looking forward to the rest of your recaps!

You both look amazing in all of those shots. I am curious what the rest of Ballantine Hall looks like because your shots make it look so interesting!

@jordynrose: That’s the awesome thing about these photos: BH is pretty much the ugliest/most uninteresting building on the campus, but our photographers saw something really beautiful about it. Heidi has an amazing eye.

I went to Indiana… love these shots! My only regret about marrying a Purdue boy is that getting married in Bloomington just wasn’t a great idea. If I’d married a fellow Hoosier I would have been all over it!

Can’t wait to see the rest!
