We arrived at our rehearsal to find that we were the only ones that had showed up! I quickly found out that traffic to our church was terrible, and that everyone was at least en route and doing their best to get there. I told our priest that we should have everyone assembled in about 10 minutes, but I could tell that he was antsy to get things started. I managed to cool his jets for about 5 minutes, at which point he decided we were going to start without the missing wedding party members. Um… okay. Not that they need to know where to go or anything…
Eventually 99% of our bridal party had arrived, and I began to arrange the guys in the order they should stand in:

Where’s Waldo?
Seriously, it was kind of like herding cats, which is why I’m a blur in this picture.
Then, I put my bridesmaids in order (sans one who was still driving in from out-of-town), and my mom attempted to snap a nice picture of the girls. With all of the action going on, it was sort of a lost cause.

Since we had “uneven” sides (6 bridesmaids and 9 groomsmen) I had decided to have the gentlemen of our wedding party waiting at the front of the church while my bridesmaids processed one by one down the aisle from the back of church. This plan worked perfectly. When the wedding party processed out of church, they paired up two by two, and the final three groomsmen walked together. Easy peasy. So… if you’re stressing about “even sides” or “who will walk with who” … know that in the grand scheme of things, it’s totally not a big deal. I pinky swear.
Next, my dad and I practiced our big entrance — I might appear that I’m paying attention to the church wedding coordinator here, but really I was just thinking about how surreal this whole thing was. We were practicing processing down the aisle for my wedding.

Feigning interest… ribbon bouquet at my side.

The priest showing us“the hand off” between my dad and Mr. French Fries.
We listened to a few more directions from the priest, and Mr. FF and I learned that we would be standing for the entire ceremony. That’s roughly 40-45 minutes of standing… which I could totally do if I was still 16 and working retail. But now? My legs get tired. So yeah… not thrilled about that. At least I was going to be wearing flats.
The rest of the rehearsal went relatively smoothly, and we were confident that we knew what was going to go on the next day. Except, the priest never went over when we were supposed to have our “first kiss”. Hmmm…interesting…

Listening intently, but not getting the deets on kissing.
So, that was it! We were rehearsed! We left the church en route to our yummy, yummy rehearsal dinner. That’s up next!
