About Mrs. Hot Wings

One of my biggest goals for our wedding has been to make sure our guests are never hungry. This means having snacks readily available. I really wanted to have a fruit snack with our champagne toast because we’re actually having our best man and woman of honor toasts immediately after our civil ceremony and before the reception. I’ll go into the details about why in another post. Of course, I didn’t just come up with this idea on my own. I was inspired by these photos.

I bought glassine bags from Nashville Wraps, the With Love stamp and the orchid stamp from eBay, and used Palette Ink. Then I cut a straight edge across the top of the bag and used the Martha Stewart edge punch. Look at my finished product!

Filled with some cherries:

Voila! A cherry snack to go with our champagne toast. Super simple and super cute. Hopefully, none of our guests will stain their outfits or accidentally squish cherry juice on my white dress. ;)

Are you serving any snacks during your wedding day? If so, do you have any ideas on cute packaging to share?

You just inspired me to have my hotel drop off snacks in my guest’s hotel rooms during the wedding. We don’t have a catered late night snack, but how awesome would it be to come back to your room and think “Wow! Food! I was just thinking that it’d been 4 hours since dinner and i’m famished after all that dancing!”

While I love cherries and think this is a cute idea…what will the guests do with the pits?

Oh I love this idea! I wish I had known about it before my wedding. My only advice is to make sure none of your guests have a bad cherry allergy and to make sure the cherries don’t accidentally get in any of the other food. I know my sister has an awful allergic and if she eats something that had touched a fresh cherry she can suffer a mild attack. Just something to keep half an eye on - or for your MOH to do!

Ha, I’m definitely considering this option as my family has cherry orchards and it would be the perfect personal touch.

Good point listed above though: what to do with the pits?

what size are the glassine bags that you got from nashville wraps? and did you use all 1000? do they sell them in smaller quantities? i’m looking for small bags like this for our favors (mexican wedding cookies, yumm!) but i definitely don’t need 1000, lol. just wondering. thanks for posting! cute idea, btw! :D

So cute! And then your guests can challenge each other to tie the stems in their mouths, which I bet would make for great photo ops! :)
