…and doesn’t he look adorable (and sort of like a child playing dress-up)?

Back in May, Mr. L and I went tux shopping at Benjamin Peters in Ithaca with a mission to find the perfect tuxes. We went in initially excited to look at this tux, the Chocolate Perisian:

But as soon as Mr. L laid his eyes on it, he knew it wasn’t for him. The color was much too dull and flat for his liking, so he quickly nixed it as an option and continued looking. After a quick search through other possibilities, he came across one that instantly clicked, the Starwood. It had a clean, crisp, classic look to it, and we could order ties and vests in ivory and gold colors that would compliment both mine and the girls’ dresses.

We decided on a light sparkly champagne/ivory for Mr. L and a shimmery golden latte for the other dudes (champagne pictured on top, latte on bottom) to be worn over a crisp white shirt (because Mr. L thinks ivory looks dingy).

After making our decision, Mr. L was measured, and he tried on the sample jackets to see if the cut and fit would work. First, he tried on their sample of the Starwood, but it was a little snug.

To get a better idea of what size and length would work for Mr. L, the salesperson had him try on the sized sample jacket (based on his measurements), and the fit was great. Yes, Mr. L, you are gonna look fly!

We were hoping to get the full tux shipped there in his size so that he could try it on sooner rather than later, but because it was May and prom season, the shop owner told us we would have to wait until sometime this month to have it delivered. Perhaps we will be making another trip very soon to check out the full get up.
