Love in Bloom: Getting to the Ceremony : wedding bloomington pictures pro pics recap 488322201 01

The bridal party portraits finished at 4:45… exactly 15 minutes before the wedding was supposed start. My maids and I hustled back to the suite to mop the sweat from our faces and try to salvage our makeup. I assume Ribs and his best man did the same, perhaps without the makeup.

Guests were a little reluctant to go out to the courtyard early; it was still very much in the realm of hot and humid. Rumor has it that everyone piled into the groom’s side of the aisle to be in the shade.

While Ribs was ready downstairs, I had just enough time to put on my veil and another swipe of lipstick.

Ribs and his parents walked in to “Hallelujah”—the Jeff Buckley version, played by his brother on guitar.

And then the procession began. “The Wind” by Cat Stevens was playing.

I started to feel emotional at this point; the song got to me and having both of my parents at my side really cemented the fact that this was happening.
