Mrs. Barrettes, Tumon, Guam/Napa, CA Age and Occupation: 29, Dancer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 31, Licensed Building Contractor Engagement Date: November 16, 2008 Wedding Date: October 2010 Venue: V. Sattui Winery About Me: I'm an East Coast girl, living on a tiny little island in the Pacific, twirling, leaping, and shimmy-ing my way through life, and now, wedding planning! I'm equal parts nerdy and cool... okay, mostly nerdy. I love satin bows, red lipstick, black & white graphic anything, the shine of sequins and the sound of a champagne "pop". My favorite books are The Portrait of a Lady, by Henry James, and Tender is the Night, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I can also conjure a pretty good Patronus Charm. I started my appreciation for good red wine while traveling on the high seas, and it's only fitting that my passion for wine drinking led me to my Napa-bred honey. We bonded over bottles of Cabernet on my oceanfront porch and haven't looked back since. We're sealing the deal at a winery in the Napa Valley on a 'perfect ten' of a day!

Booked: Photographer! : wedding guam photography Picture024 Picture024

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a photographer! I’m very happy to report that Luke Snyder and one of his associates at Luke Snyder Studio will be shooting our big day! Luke’s photos (coincidentally from a V. Sattui wedding) were just featured on the top wedding blog, Style Me Pretty. If that’s not a good sign, I don’t know what is!

I’m thrilled to have accomplished this task, and I look forward to fawning over our super cool wedding photos! Luke seems keen on helping me recreate the Annie Leibowitz shots that I liked so much, as well as the SOTA shots that caught my eye.

(Wouldn’t this be awesome for a first look?)

Ryan has already expressed his reluctance to spend the whole evening taking pictures, which on any other night would be very fun for me. Who doesn’t love a good photo shoot!? So we’re toying with the idea of doing a “day after” shoot, which would be a more relaxed way to get the killer photos I’m after.

I found Luke solely online and really liked his style immediately. Once I found him, I knew there was no one else I needed to see! With his experience shooting at our venue and his willingness to try fun things, he quickly shot to the top of my “must have” list. Can’t wait to see how he captures our big day!

Did you have a hard time finding your photographer online? What made you want to work with him/her?

I found my photographer completely online. Her shooting style and the positive way she wrote her blog entries really made me want to work with her.

I did it all online too!! I found images I loved and worked backwards to see who shot them…finally all roads lead back to Tec Petaja, who was also the photographer for Mrs. Cowboy Boot - so she could give me an awesome review and I confirmed!! I love WB :)

Congrats on finalizing the photographer details! I’ve worked with Luke before, and he’s amazing, he really knows how to tell a story with the details and moments. And he’s super sweet! Great find, and good luck with the rest of the planning :)

Your photog looks great! We found ours online too and I followed a lot of their blogs before meeting them in person.

Oooh exciting! I fell in love with my Photog’s blog and stalked it quite regularly (and still do). She gets better with each post. Le swoon!

I found all of the “candidates” online then had interviews with them & personality is key! We went with the one that gave me a hug at the end of our meeting :-)
