I know I’m the ten-billionth person to quote this movie, but a) The Princess Bride is a damn fine movie, b) I’m getting mawwied, yo!

I’m getting married tomorrow. To.mor.ow. A slow, never-ending 15 months suddenly sped up like someone flipped a switch. Vague plans in the wedding binder and ideas in my head gradually became more and more real. As time sped up, people really opened up and offered ears, shoulders, and even physical labor and chauffeuring services if we needed them. I’ve sent those messages, too; but I never knew how much they meant until now. I dropped off our wedding booze to the caterer this week (OK, so Mr. Taco was right and it did all fit in the car), and I teared up thinking about all the people, near and far, who took time to check in with us and make our little party happen. Thank you, peeps. We really couldn’t have done it without you. Also, tearing up while driving is a bad idea, but I worked around it.

Thanks for reading, hive. This nationwide audience of wedding-lovers included some of the warmest, most encouraging people in this process. I’m just another San Francisco gal planning another Bay Area wedding, but you really made this taco feel supreme.

I’ve said it before, but it’s worth mentioning again: for all their mockable qualities (Bridezillas, anyone?), weddings really do have the ability to bring out the best in people, as much as they can bring out the worst, too. Thankfully, for every setback, there have been 10 positives to make up for it. I hope you found/find the same!
