Mama Hot Wings insisted I try to keep my makeup a secret until the day of as well, so go away Mister.

OK, back to the hive. Can you believe it? On the left is my before, and on the right is my after. Doesn’t it look more like a picture of a 15 year old and a 25 year old?
If you haven’t already guessed it, I had my make-up trial with my wedding makeup artist, aka, Cousin Suzane. I’ll admit it. It’s pretty awesome to have a cousin that is a makeup artist.
Cousin Suzane is known for doing something kind of interesting. Look at the photo below. Can you tell what is different about each of my eyes?

Among her friends, Cousin Suzane is known as the “Double Lashes Queen”. On the left is one strip of lashes. On the right, she put 2 strips of lashes. Isn’t it an amazing difference?

Then we headed outside to see how the make-up would photograph out in the afternoon sun. We weren’t very happy with how it photographed outside. This reminded me that straight up sunny shots can be very harsh on your sun and shadows are even worse. We decided to add more blush because of the sunlight. You should definitely try your look out in the sun if you’ll be having an outdoor ceremony and/or taking photos outdoors.

Before leaving Cousin Suzane’s place, I put on my glasses and we had a good laugh at yet another reason why I can’t wear my glasses on the big day. The lashes hit the glasses and are really awkward.

Then I went out to dinner with Mrs D’orsay and Mrs French Bulldog (thanks for the lovely evening ladies!). I took this photo in my poorly lit bathroom when I got home. It had been 8 hours since my makeup application, and I did zero touch ups in between. My eye makeup had smudged a bit. One of the double lashes was beginning to separate and my lip gloss could definitely use some reapplication. In this photo, I also noticed that the blush looks a lot darker with indoor lighting than in natural light.

I was still so intrigued with the double lashes that I decided to try to take them off one at a time so I could show you what they looked like. Pardon my bloodshot eyes, it was late. On the left are 2 lash strips. On the right is a single strip.

I tried to take off just one of the 2 strips on the left eye and couldn’t. Cousin Suzane had blended the 2 really well, so I had to take off both together. So here you can see on the left with no fake lashes and 1 strip on the right.

And last, you get to see me with all of my makeup after 8 hours, except with 0 fake lashes.
Now that you’ve seen every which variation of my glamorous bridal makeup, what do you think? Is it glamorous enough? Originally, I had wanted to do a bright red lipstick instead because I have small eyes and don’t usually have dramatic eye makeup. Cousin Suzane really felt that she would make a dramatic and glamorous eye without it looking too overdone.
What do you think? Has your makeup artist shown you a trick or two that the hive should know about?
