Here we go: the details. I started planning with big ideas stemming from Dorothy Draper interiors. My budget only allowed for recreating her aesthetic on a small scale, but I’m still pretty happy with the results.
Pink peonies can do no wrong, especially mixed with hosta leaves.
We served pink lemonade as guests left the ceremony, a welcome relief from the heat.
The centerpieces were in green glass goblets that my florist found.
I re-purposed an apothecary jar as a wish jar and printed out a bunch of cards with our initials.
The whoopie pies were excellent!
So those are the things I obsessed over for a year. In the days leading up to the wedding, I was worried I didn’t have enough, that the wedding was just going to look a little sad. The thing is, I barely noticed these things at the wedding. I adored the flowers, but everything else was just stuff. I wouldn’t change anything in hindsight, but I wouldn’t add anything either. I loved the wedding.
