As if I don’t already have enough on my DIY plate…I recently decided I needed another must-have for our wedding day. I was minding my own business watching TLC’s D.C. Cupcakes the other night, and what did they have to show me? A very inspiring cupcake flowerpot display to fuel my bride brain! It looks like a super easy project and will def add an awesome wow factor to our dessert buffet. And with a little help from Google, I was able to find all these great ideas and am eager to try my hand at them.

“Easy add-on” are famous last words in the world of DIY.

They’re really cute though.

Very cute, and would be super original at a wedding! I’m no pro at cupcakes, but if you are I say go for it! (*side note: every time I say “Go for it” the Connect 4 jingle gets stuck in my brain. “Go for it, CONNECT 4! Got 3 in a row…CONNECT 4!” There are days I desperately wish I wasn’t a child of the 90’s…)

I made these last year for centerpieces at my sister’s wedding shower. I suggest freezing the cupcakes for a day or two after frosting them. I did this and still the frosting flowers on two of the cupcakes fell off from being sideways on the pot.

Very cute… but I’ll be honest: That last row of cupcakes on the bottom is giving me a momentary heart attack every time I look at them. I’m waiting for them to fall, or the frosting to drip :) BUT they would be so fun and memorable.

@camrie ““Easy add-on” are famous last words in the world of DIY. ” — LOL, my thoughts exactly!!

they are adorable, but remember there are a lot of wedding details that look great in pictures and photograph well, but can end up a little messy in real life! i cannot imagine how well those cute little cakes could hold up in the heat….

I think they are super cute - but this is one DIY that should be delegated to someone else if you’re gonna attempt them! Cupcakes only keep for 2 days before they start going stale, and you’re gonna have a billion things to do on the day before and day of your wedding. Unless you do like the PP said and freeze them..

these are very cute, but… weren’t you posting yesterday about how you are overloaded with DIY projects? ;)

camrie is right; and if you have time, go for them! i ended up axing a LOT before my wedding because “easy add on” DIY’s began costing waaaayyyy too much time and money.

i probably saved myself 2 full weeks and at least $500
