We’ve already talked about Mr. L’s rINgDECISION and how he finally found something he was proud to wear. What you don’t know is that because of how much time passed, we couldn’t just return the first two bands he had already purchased. Because the price difference of the new band was much, much, much cheaper than the two we had purchased, we were left with a big hunk of trade-in value with little to put it towards.

Check out the pretty lady in the background—it’s FMIL Locket.
Luckily the fancy watch Mr. L had been eyeing (and praying to receive as a wedding gift) was being discontinued, which meant it was on super clearance. With the trade-in and discounted price purchasing, the watch didn’t seem so frivolous and was actually quite manageable. The Movado Fiero may look like any other Movado timepiece, but there is one big difference that really drew Mr. L in. The watch’s band and case are constructed in tungsten carbide, and the face is made of sapphire crystal, which means this watch is very durable and scratch resistant.

It could literally last a lifetime and look just as good as it will on our wedding day. So, much like Miss Knitting’s hubby, Mr L will also be getting a wedding-day watch alongside his less sturdy wedding band. I like the idea of knowing that even if Mr. L’s band doesn’t survive the length of our marriage, he will always have the watch to reminisce on.

And, another shot showing off that iridescent pearly inlay in his band.
We are also considering an engraving for the back with either of the following:
You may have noticed the majority of possibilities are related to our song, “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol. Mr. L really likes the idea of incorporating the name of the song or lyrics into the engraving. I, however, really like the idea of incorporating one of our sayings, “Love is you, Love is us,” into the engraving. It all started when Mr. L would tell me “Love is you,” to which I would constantly respond, “No, love is us,” and it has been a running thing between the two of us for sometime. I’m not quite sure which route we will go, but either choice will be a good one, and I can’t wait to finally let Mr. Locket wear his watch on our wedding day.
Are you gifting your fiance on your wedding day? Do they already know what they will be getting?
