Mrs. Guinea Pig's Picture
Mrs. Guinea Pig, Baltimore, MD Age and Occupation: 26, PhD student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Operations Director at a non-profit Engagement Date: December 25, 2008 Wedding Date: May 2010 Venue: The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club About Me: I'm a tomboy science nerd whose girly side has made a startling appearance thanks to wedding planning! I love to bake, knit and sew but I also ride a motorcycle (that Mr. Guinea Pig wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole). We live with our three crazy cats and love to read, travel, watch movies, and do home improvement projects together! My parents/family are Canadian but I'm definitely American, although I've lived in 5 different countries, 6 different states, and speak Russian fluently. Mr. GP and I met online (did I mention I'm a scientist?) and had a whirlwind romance - now we can't wait to get married & celebrate with all our friends and family in a blue and yellow waterfront affair!
About Mrs. Guinea Pig

Once Mr. GP and I had finished oohing and ahhing over each other at our first look, it was time for some portraits! At this point we were getting close to ceremony time, and guests would be arriving on the shuttles any minute. How was time passing so quickly?!

First, my shoes got their moment to peek through and shine:

(Note Mr. GP not wearing argyle socks. The man steadfastly refused!)

Then Mr. GP and I basically just hung out in this room being photographed for a bit. :)

It’s funny, I felt a little weird being photographed, but it wasn’t nearly as awkward as I thought it would be. Perhaps that’s wedding day amnesia? I will say that in our nervousness about the day (and probably also a little about being photographed), we fell back on the good ol’ standard of kissing and hugging. :D Thankfully our photographers were really good about capturing the sweet moments in between as well (otherwise we’d only have photos of us kissing, I think)!

At this point our venue coordinator came to tell us that guests were waiting outside to be let in to the venue and be seated for the ceremony, so we needed to hurry up and get back in our hideout spots! I love this next photo because I can clearly read in my face what I’m thinking: “Are you ready? Do you realize what we’re about to go do?!” - I was still happy and nervous!

Then it was a quick walk back to the bridal suite for me, with Mr. GP heading back to the guys. As promised in my last post, here are a couple photos of my veil in the wind outside between buildings! At first it just went straight out behind me, but as I turned back to take one last look at Mr. Guinea Pig, it decided it preferred being straight up above my head!

And then of course, I needed a bit of help from Teresa (coordinator) to get through the door!

I love these photos because they’re hilarious, and as much as I REALLY wish we’d been able to take photos outside, I’m glad we got some normal, non wind-whipped photos of us. We’ll save the dresses-flying-around, hair-in-faces outdoor photos for the bridal party! Ha :D

Up next: Guests arrive and we all prepare to get down to the business of gettin’ married

Were you nervous during your photos?

They’re SO gorgeous! The whipping veil shots are so amazing, and I love the one with Mr. GP holding your bouquet.

You look absolutely RADIANT!! I especially love the one of both of you standing with Mr. GP in the background and the one of you hugging him from behind, looking at the camera while he holds your bouquet!
