Mrs. Cardigan, Austin Age and Occupation: 21, Student/Soon-to-be Special Education Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 20, Student/Soon-to-be Accounting Systems Analyst Engagement Date: August 16, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2011 Venue: Vintage Villas About Me: I'm a native Austinite who was raised as a die-hard Aggie. Luckily, I'm a pretty persuasive girl because I managed to convince my high school boyfriend (now fiance!), Mr. Cardigan, to ditch his hardcore Longhorn ways and join me up at A&M, where we currently reside with our adorable dogs, Cullen & Ranger. We're currently planning a bright, cheery wedding with a ridiculous amount of DIY projects that I can't wait to tackle! I love crafting in any form, reading, and margaritas (I think I love them the most!). Organization is what keeps me sane and I love helping others, which is probably why I ended up as an education major. It gets a little chaotic sometimes when you're planning a wedding among all of the papers, projects, finals, and certification exams, but we're having the time of our lives and we can't wait to get started on our journey as husband and wife - and we're so excited to share our wedding with the hive!

A Ring for Mr. Cardy!

August 20th, 2010 @ 4:32 pm by Mrs. Cardigan

After weeks and weeks of waiting patiently (and having Mr. Cardy ask me every other day when it would get here), Mr. Cardigan’s wedding band finally came!

It came on Tuesday, which just happened to be my first day that I spent the whole day up at the school getting ready for student teaching. I came home exhausted, a little bit grumpy, and needing a nap. But when I walked in the door and saw a package sitting on the kitchen table and Mr. Cardy’s excitement at having finally received his ring, all the stress melted away!

He was a good fiance and waited until I got home to open it, because he said “you’re a blogger and you need to take pictures of me opening it!” He’s finally getting the hang of this whole blogging thing, huh? :-)

So, naturally, I obliged!

I know he doesn’t look excited here, but trust me, he is. He was making ridiculous faces in all the other photos I took!

It’s somewhere in there!!!

This is Mr. Cardy’s excited face. At least it is when I pull out a camera! I swear it’s impossible to make that boy be serious for a photo!

Look! It’s the box!

There it is! You have NO idea how hard it was to get him to let me take this photo before he took the ring out!

And this is Mr. Cardigan’s real excited face! He’s checking out the inside of the ring!

Yay! He has his wedding band! Doesn’t it look sexy on him?! ;-)

And, of course, I had to take some detail shots of the ring so you can see how amazing it is!

Mr. Cardy kept rubbing the inside of the ring and saying “that’s your fingerprint!!!”

And then we had a mini photo session with our rings together! I forgot to grab my wedding band, but that’s okay. My e-ring looks pretty good with his band, don’t you think?!

Since we got the band on Tuesday, I’ve caught Mr. Cardy wearing his ring at least once every day. He even begged me to let him wear it to work yesterday! He’s really excited about it, and I love that he’s so eager to wear it! A few years down the road, we’ll probably be upgrading his ring to a white gold one (this is sterling silver, because it’s all we could afford for now), but Mr. Cardigan is so incredibly pleased with his ring, and he can’t wait to get to wear it every day!

Did your fiance get excited about his wedding band?

Yes he did!! We got it in the mail on monday, and I just gave it to him on Wednesday. He’s worn it ever since. He was SO funny! “It’s going to stay here till I die!”

That’s really cute. :>

Yes, my FI got excited about his ring. It was his suggestion when to go pick it out, and he found what he liked. Now he’s impatient to get it out of the safe deposit box and actually wear it.

we are actually going to try and burrow his grandfather that passed away ring for our cermony, after that we are going to get it tattooed on him, he works on cars all day and is worried about getting it smashed, so we thought it would be cool to use his grandpas ring to have a part of him there!

Seriously this is ridiculously sweet! I love his excited face (both real and “fake”). I think those rings are so cool! We have yet to shop for our wedding bands, but I suspect my FI will be trying his on alot!

Ugh, student-teaching… PAINFUL! The first week is the most exhausting and pretty soon you’ll get used to it. Love the ring!
