About Mrs. Earrings

After much debating over our ceremony music, we have finally decided what songs we want to include. If you remember, my dad’s boss will be playing all our ceremony music on his guitar. With that in mind, we picked some songs that sound great on the guitar and that also have special meaning for us. Not all of them are your “traditional” ceremony songs, but they are very specific and personal to us.

For the bridesmaids walking down the aisle, we picked a song that Mr E found for me during one of our long periods spend apart in different countries, “Hey There Delilah” by the Plain White Ts.

At the end of their processional, the music will transition into “Here Comes the Sun” for my walk. I love this song. I know it is becoming more and more popular at weddings these days, but that didn’t put me off simply because it is popular for very good reasons, it is so beautiful and classic.

For the signing of the register, we picked another Beatles song: “Something.”

The recessional song took the longest to pick but eventually we settled on “Not Fade Away”, a cover by the Rolling Stones. We figure it will end the ceremony on the appropriate note. :P

How did you pick your ceremony music? What songs have special meaning for you and your SO?

I desperately want to walk down the aisle to “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles, but our church won’t allow it! Soooo disappointing. I’m hoping when I meet with the music director, I can get her on my side. I just want the instrumental version!

Love your choices!
