I believe I have failed to tell the hive my color scheme! How silly of me! After weeks of digging through the crayon box, we decided on this:

It took a minute to get us to that place; I thought I wanted something more autumnal, vineyard, October-y… but once I wrapped my head around the grays, all was well. Now—on with the invitation reveal!
When the box arrived, all the pieces were separately packaged—wrapped in pretty white bows. I was not expecting the silver paper stock and was ELATED when I saw that everything was silver, as it is a main wedding color. I was also really happy with the font we chose and loved the raised font and the embossing on the invitation card.
When I saw the reception and Rsvp cards, I literally squealed. They totally sparkle like a Cullen when they’re in direct light! The embossed monogram I’d chosen, with the date included, looked stunning! I stuffed the RSVP card in its envelope and folded the reception card over the pocket. It was Bridesmaid Amy’s idea to have the 10.10.10 peek out of the dark envelope.
With the placement of the cards complete, it was time to tackle my favorite detail: the violet bow. (Later, the postman would say, “Do you need that bow?” Um, hello?! Yes!!!) The bows were personalized with the name of the guest printed on the silver card stock and fixed behind the knot. I had to redo a lot of them because the names were hidden by the bow. I also needed to singe the ends of all the bows to keep the fabric from fraying (years of singeing pointe-shoe ribbons helped me know this trick).
So after tying, singeing, and re-gluing over 100 violet bows, the last step was to slide the bows over the dark envelopes.

I loved the end result! I was reminded of one of my inspiration photos.
I didn’t mind my stamps, but I could have done without the ubiquitous polar bear. At least the colors weren’t annoying. With the exception of invitations going to England, all of the envelopes needed the three stamps: Love, Zeus, and Bear. The addresses were printed with the same Freebooter Script font, and my return address was printed on the back flap.
Then I said goodbye to my perfect little babies and sent them off into the world!
