Mrs. Husky's Picture
Mrs. Husky, Denver Age and Occupation: 26, Systems Administrator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 32, Mechanical Engineer, recently laid off Engagement Date: August 14, 2009 Wedding Date: October 2010 Venue: Rancho San Carlos About Me: I am planning a quirky-crafty wedding with my recently out-of-work fiancé for a (fingers crossed!) warm October afternoon. We are two self-professed nerds with an affinity for all things outdoors---be it rain, snow or shine. Recently relocated from the drizzly Northwest, we're enjoying the many sun-soaked days in the mile high city. Our day will be filled with both of our large families and friends, a self-served Cajun feast, and a Zydeco-style jazz band rocking beneath the beams of a historic red barn.
About Mrs. Husky

Our RSVP envelopes have begun to arrive! Every time I open our mailbox to find another of our envelopes, I get a rush of excitement. So far, we’re at 100% yes. Of course, I know we won’t enjoy the presence of every guest we’ve invited. But so far, it’s been a whole lot of yee-haws. I just wanted to quickly show you all how frazzled we must have been by the time we actually sent those suckers out:

Notice anything, um, off? Or in the wrong place?

Yes, as a matter of fact the envelope was printed upside down. And it did slip by unnoticed, both from the printer, and from our Quality Inspection during assembly.

Well, maybe the respondent didn’t notice…

Oh. I guess she did notice. Fortunately for us, this particular invitee generously donated hours upon hours of her time to help us get these invites out the door. So if there’s anyone who will forgive this mistake, it’s probably her. So far, this is the only upside-down envelope we’ve received. We’re hoping there aren’t many more out there…

Did you discover any major mistakes after it was too late to correct them?

i don’t know if i would call that a major mistake. i mean, it made it out, it made it back, it had the information you needed. sounds like a working RSVP to me!

Glad I’m not the only one! :) I accidentally put some of the address labels upside down on our thank you envelopes. Oh well!

Haha! Its kinda cute :)

At the last minute when my invites were ready to be shipped, I spilled green tea over the box and ruined 3 outer envelopes! I used the hairdryer, but the names and addresses were smeared. I sent them anyway, but emailed those guests immediately! ;)

So far our biggest mistake was failing to number about a dozen RSVP cards (in case of a guest failure to write their name).

Ha ha. After disassembling, affixing address labels, and reassembling about 80 of our 90 invitation, my mom realized that I’d printed my zip code on the address labels for the RSVP envelopes…and they were going to my parents’, in a VERY different zip code. Oopsy-daisy! We had to go back through all of them, disassemble, re-label, and reassemble.

I printed two address labels to two different people to the same address! Luckily they live in the same town and are friends, but how random would it have been to get a wedding invitation in someone else’s name to your address? I mustve been truly out of it!

An upside down stamp means “I love you” or that the letter inside contains well wishes/good luck! So it’s not a bad thing at all, don’t stress : )

Ha. I would just think it was cute if I got an upside down envelope. I’d think “oh, those sly dogs!”

I love it, actually! It’s sort of a nice reminder that it’s just an envelope (or twenty) and that everyone you’ve invited will most likely just think it’s endearing. I need stuff like this to make me smile, relax and have fun with the process!

@soniasays: I’d never heard that, but I love it! I think it applies here. :)
