During the wedding planning process many of us are bombarded with images and ideas of pretty things we just “must have.” And sometimes during that bombardment we stumble across a designer that we fall in love with. For me, that designer happens to be Australian (I know, for a kiwi that is almost painful to admit): Leona Edmiston.

If you saw my flower girl post yesterday, you already know that our flower girl will be dolled up in a Little Leona dress for the day (not the one shown above, a different one ). I first heard about Leona Edmiston from M’s mum who bought that dress for a steal. Well, after seeing how pretty it was, I Googled the designer and was instantly smitten.

However, I wasn’t so smitten with their prices. Thankfully, there are ways around such obstacles. First, I fell in love with this snazzy silk wrap:

It was more than I was willing to pay, especially in Australian dollars, but I waited, and sure enough it went (and is still) on sale. Woo hoo! Pretty honeymoon and getting ready robe? Check!

Months and months ago I saw this dress and adored it (partly because the style shares my name) but didn’t realise it was by Leona Edmiston:

Gorgeous, right? Its original price was over $400—not so gorgeous. However, by this month, when I found out whom it was by, I figured it may have went on sale. I had to go through the designer’s “vintage” store to get it but now I have it in my sweaty little hands for under a quarter of the original price! Rehearsal or shower dress? Check! I’m on a roll, ladies. Now I just need shoes for it…

I figure I should probably stay away from Leona now, to keep my wallet intact, but I have had fun finding bargains.
