College Love: Flags

August 27th, 2010 @ 12:01 pm by Mrs. Starfish

I’ve already written a whole post about showing our college some love, but I can’t help but add these little flags to my college love collection. We aren’t having cupcakes, so I don’t know how to incorporate them into the wedding, but I need to figure out a way. Our college’s main colors are navy and white, which are also our wedding colors, so they’ll go perfect with the rest of the decor.

Mr. Starfish is completely on board, but we’re both clueless on how to include them.

Do you have any ideas?

If you have any appetizers, you could use these as toothpicks… But who wants to make that many mini-pennants. If you have a groom’s cake, that’d be a good place for them. Or if you found a cake-topper that you could incorporate the flag into, and have that on the cake table.

You could use the little flags on drink stir-sticks?

I want to do a groom’s cake with our college mascot. We also want to play our Fight song at the reception. Places at our alma mater (with pics hopefully) with also serve as table names

Maybe they could be waved in lieu of bubbles, flowers, etc. as you exit the ceremony or leave the reception for the night?

Go Elon Pheonix!!! My Alma Mater, sorry had to.

Why don’t you put them on straws, like little straw flags?

’super cute flags! I love all the suggestions so far. I was thinking maybe table numbers, or something like that.

Place cards! You could mount them on little round discs so that they stand upright. It might be a lot of work, but the end product would be SO cute.

Stick them on signage as a random nod all through the night? Kind of like a “find the hidden Mickey” deal?

Are you having different cake flavors? You could use them as your cake flags.

@ktisthatbees: Dang girl ;) I was your manager for a year there…come on now! ;)

@jamesy14: Darn, our paths most likely never crossed :(

@kjpugs: E-U! Youuuuu know! Ok, I’m a loser.

And sorry Seashell, I did just hijack your post even more. I love those flags, and I think they could definitely be adapted into drink flags, possibly???
