I really can’t go any further into my wedding-world plans with you until I talk to you about my savior. No, not Jesus…the utter hilarity of my Catholic ceremony will be a little later. (Get your seatbelts ready, folks! We’re in for a bumpy ride!) My savior is Sara! OMG, did I just use somebody’s real name? Yessum, and I will tell you why. She is in college majoring in event planning. She wants to be a wedding planner and is using my wedding as a portfolio piece. Sara, being a part of my own pro-bono-college-portfolio piece, was happy to return the favor. She is also a great dumping ground for all those brochures from vendors I decided not to go with.
**We almost died in Dorchester, MA trying to find this fabric. Any one of you ever driven the wrong way down a one way?

Sa has been with me from the super beginning when we started looking at venues. We have had some awesome times together. The only complaint I have is she keeps bringing Fat Food (McDonald’s) into my house and not gaining a damn pound! I jest. She does tempt me with those damn fries, though. Sa was the one there when I found my dress, we have discovered the wonder of Paper-Source together, and the venue hunt stories will soon come. She has put up and laughed at my ever-changing theme ideas and always keeps me motivated. Her mother is even helping us with our invitation embossing. Her brother, one of our best men, is affectionately called “boyfriend number two.” I’ve already made her clipboard for the big day (easiest DIY project ever!), and I am totally comfortable implementing a no-cell-phone zone for me on the big day because everyone will have her contact info. She be taking care of it all. She keeps me sane. Love her!
I had always wanted to hire a college student as a wedding vendor: photography, videography, etc. It didn’t matter. College students would be happy to do an excellent job for a few cases of Gansett, but I felt slightly more comfortable with a professional with contracts and contacts. I was afraid my photographer would get sick, and I would be pictureless. I’m super duper excited that Sara has fulfilled my college-student requirement of the wedding. After all, if she doesn’t show…I’ll guilt her forever.
