Color, Color Everywhere?

August 30th, 2010 @ 11:50 am by Mrs. Elephant

I’m starting to feel like I’m seeing our wedding colors everywhere! This weekend I went to a bridal-jewelry high-tea event for a magazine and was a little early (as I normally am—I always feel so bad if I’m late making someone wait on me), so I decided to kill some time at Marshall’s.

I had no intention of buying anything; I just wanted to walk around for 10 or 15 minutes and then head to the tea. Well, I found myself in the home-goods section, and—lo and behold—there were two baskets there, one green and one blue, that just happened to be our colors! I sent a picture message to Mr. E and my mom to get their opinions on them. Of course, like usual when I’m trying to hurry, I wasn’t getting any cell service in that building! So here I am walking around with these two baskets trying to find service to send the picture message…

By the time I finally found service at the front of the building, I realized that I only had eight minutes to get to the tea! I figured I would just buy them and decide if we could use them once I got home. If not, I could always return them, so I bought them and hauled butt to the tea.
Mom and Mr. E both agreed that we could use the baskets in the wedding (and in our home after the wedding), so I’m going to keep them. One will be for programs and the other will hold the bubbles for our sendoff. I don’t think there are any other needed baskets for the wedding, so I’ll be steering clear of that aisle from here on out, haha!

Have you made any purchases for your wedding based on the sole fact that the item matches your colors?

Cute baskets! I always try to picture message my FI when I’m trying to buy him a shirt and of course he’s never available lol!

YES! All the time! I bought a scrapbook page organizer (when I don’t even scrapbook) just because it was black, white, and lime green. LOL

Haha! Absolutely! That kind of thing happens to me all the time! I feel like I see stuff everywhere that we could use at the wedding, even Marshals! Very good find!

I started dressing in a lot of pink and navy after I picked my colors. :)

Just today I realized that my pink (which is a light pink with a little bit of yellow to it) should be called Strawberry Banana smoothie because that is the EXACT color I’m using.

I know you don’t need more temptation to buy baskets but they look like they would also make fantastic bathroom baskets :)

@Scribbles: LOL very true. I’m still debating on if I’ll take on the project of bathroom baskets.

I have been guilty of buying things here in Japan that totally won’t fit in our suitcases and I don’t know what is wrong with me. Your baskets are innocent enough I think! :D
