Our Singapore Reception Will be a Surprise!

Next week, I’ll be heading to our second reception in Singapore, where most of Mr. Hamster’s family still resides. I’ve got my outfit planned out, but MIL Hamster is taking care of the reception details. It will be interesting to attend a reception in our honor that I had no part in planning. Although I admit, after planning our New York shindig, it’s a bit of a relief! Here’s what I do know:

Anyone interested in taking a dip in the infinity pool, located 55 stories up?

I admit that the details I can provide here are a little scarce, other than the fact that the hotel looks pretty neat (and it’s of the same company that manages The Venetian and The Palazzo in Vegas!). I’ll have more to share when I return in a few weeks! Until then, it will be a surprise for us all.

Are there any two-reception-brides out there?

yay! We’re having a second-reception as well… and under similar arrangements - my FMIL and FI’s family are arranging a second reception for us in Texas, after our actual wedding in the UK next year. I know what you mean about it being nice to just show up as ‘guests of honor’ without having to worry about all the planning and details, hope yours goes great, can’t wait to hear more

Wow, that place looks insanely cool, luxe and swanky!! And that pool… I could never swim there, haha. I don’t think of myself as someone who is scared of heights, but I have my limits!!

I also had a second reception that I had no part in planning… but it was in Chinatown, nowhere near as cool as Singapore!

I’ve been thinking about your second reception and figured it was soon! I’m knee deep in planning our second reception right now- linen colors and everything! I feel much wiser now and the decisions seem to be happening easier… that and my DIY list is quite a bit smaller this time around.

That looks awesome! I had a bit of the same feeling about our rehearsal dinner, since I had so little to do with planning it - kind of a delighted, free feeling. You just get to kick back and enjoy being the guest of honor!
