Mrs. Knitting's Picture
Mrs. Knitting, Toronto Age and Occupation: 24, Student Recruitment Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Neuroscience PhD Candidate Engagement Date: October 2009 Wedding Date: December 2010 Venue: University of Toronto Faculty Club About Me: I'm a pearl wearing, etiquette book reading Toronto girl who loves cooking and baking, museums, charm bracelets, and collecting books on Jackie Kennedy (a lot). I've been known to spend Sunday mornings at the antique market, Wednesday evenings at sister sushi dinners, and any bit of spare time reading. After six and a half years of many late night walks, watching DVDs together in bed, travelling to places like New York, and Tobermory, doing Sudokus together on the couch, lots of Indian food, the occasional yoga class, moving in together and so much more, Mr. Knitting and I are planning a cozy Christmasy (it's a word!), vintage wedding in Toronto complete with many DIY projects (eek!) and lots of help from our amazing group of family and friends.
About Mrs. Knitting

Bahahaha

August 31st, 2010 @ 5:03 pm by Mrs. Knitting

I went to visit my parents last weekend and while going through some old photos to find family wedding photos to display at our wedding, I found this gem:

Bahahaha : wedding cake toronto Capture02

It’s a guest photo from my parents’ wedding and I kind of think it’s the funniest thing ever. In the middle of the photo you can see my parents’ fabulous 1970s style cake, complete with plastic columns and Styrofoam tiers, and then just to the right you can see that they also displayed a whiskey bottle of THE EXACT SAME SIZE (if you ignore the cake topper).

That’s right, while we’re all considering how to display the cake with family wedding photos, gorgeous floral arrangements, or as part of a fantastic dessert table, my parents got right down to business with a giant (wedding cake-sized) bottle of whiskey.

Amazing.

What’s the funniest picture you’ve seen of your parents’ wedding? Is anyone else having a wedding cake-sized bottle of booze at their wedding? Miss Glasses, I’m looking at you!

My parents really don’t have that many wedding photos. So I can’t say that they have any funny ones… the picture I wish they had is from my uncle’s wedding when he discovered that his car had been dismantled by his frat brothers before he could leave the reception.

That *is* a gem. HYSTERICAL!!! Your parents are awesome. I need to go through my parents’ wedding album again…I tried on my mom’s dress recently, but it’s been years since I saw their album.

This. Is. Fan. TAS. TIC! Oh why do 90% of my relatives have to run off for their weddings? Oh yeah, they like to get divorced. But still. This is awe-some!

3 words: Bright Orange Pinto. Yup, that was their getaway car. :D

When I was visiting with the Mr’s mom a few weeks back, she told me about her getaway outfit. Which got better and better the more wine she had. First it was hot pants. Yes, hot pants. Then it was beige hot pants with pink flowers. And a matching vest. And platform shoes. And a bandana scarf around her head. And the pictures, oh my. The best part? She still has that outfit in a box in their home. :D

Ha!!! This is hilarious. You can’t even see them at the head table!
My fave picture at my parent’s wedding was a shot of my grandmom acting drunk with a whole tables’ worth of wine glasses surrounding her. Always a joke-ster. Ah the seventies…

I remember there being a giant chair in my parents wedding pictures. Like, GIANT! I think my mom sat in it when she had the garter taken off of her…? Not sure…how random!
