One Is the Loneliest Number…

September 3rd, 2010 @ 5:37 pm by Mrs. Plaid

Lucky for our guests, we’re planning on having twelve to fourteen. Tables, that is. I’m here to talk table numbers with you fine ladies (and gentlemen, if you’re out there too).

I know that assigned seating is a not a necessary thing at weddings, but to keep the night running smoothly, we have chosen to assign seats. Actually, We’re really only assigning tables, not specific seats. I also like the idea of assigned tables because I recently went to a wedding and ended up at the “reject” table, because it was all that was left after everyone else was seated. It was no fun and totally awkward. We don’t want our guests to feel like that.

And, what do you need to assign tables? Table numbers! I already told y’all about how each guest will find out which table they’ll be sitting at, but how will they know which table is which? With a cute little table number, of course!

Here’s a little table number inspiration before I share with you what I ended up making for our table numbers:

In the true Plaid fashion, I couldn’t make up my mind as to what I wanted to do for numbers. So, I did a little of everything. I love the wooden numbers. And I definitely wanted to incorporate our engagement pictures in some way.

So, I started with some leftover yellow cardstock from our invitation extravaganza and made a little table tent. Then I went out and bought little wooden numbers at Michaels. Unfortunately, apparently 1’s are in high demand because I went to three different Michaels looking for 1’s and only found a few, so I ended up buying I’s. Hopefully no one will notice.

I decided to paint the numbers blue to contrast with the yellow cardstock. Then I used a little decorative lacey punch on the corners of each photo and glued a picture and number to each yellow table tent. Check ’em out:

I’m so glad I found a way to incorporate our engagement photos into our wedding decor.

What are y’all using for table numbers? Or are you forgoing the whole assigned-seats-idea altogether?

Great way to utilize the engagement pictures! I find mine just sit around begging for a use. I also think they’ll fall to the wayside, post wedding. They look great!

Cute use of the engagement photos, they cost so much I would want to make sure I used them everywhere I could!
