How Suite it Is

September 7th, 2010 @ 4:19 pm by Mrs. Thimble

This is my last post about my wedding invitations, I promise! ;) I wanted to share with you how we put the whole invitation suite together before we tied it up with a bow and a Moo.

Miss Stripes isn’t kidding when she likens invitation assembly to a hot an heavy one-sided love affair. It’s important to have amazing friends who will help you get out of the mess once you’re in too deep. NY MOH spent several hours with me gluing in the silvery lining:

And cutting 100+ lengths of twine:

Mr. Thimble painstakingly stamped addresses on our reply card envelopes (which looks WAAY better when the info isn’t deleted):

Meanwhile, I worked out my handwriting skillz:

There’s nothing like crisp white gel pen on an olive green envelope to transport a bride from a crazy workspace…

We used belly bands instead of inner envelopes for guests who get a +1, and I had some fun with them, depending on the guest:

Finally, I tied my last twine bow:

And I sent them out into the world:

Phew!! That felt good.

How did you feel when you set your invitations free? (And for those of you in the throes of invite assembly, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s all worth it—promise.)

Oh, you used the same old-timey stamp as Miss Stripes, didn’t you? For the return address? It looks awesome!

I may have to pick one up!

@Miss Sloth: It wasn’t that bad, but I heeded Stripes’ advice that it’s a little tough on the fingers, so I only used it for repetitive things (return address and reply card). Some looked neater than others, but I think it turned out ok

Wow thats a lot of handwriting to do…but it turned out beautifully! Love the hearts on the invitation and the twin…and the moo cards! Congrats on getting them done…I know how great it feels to finally have it off your shoulders. It was one of the biggest DUI projects Ive ever done and ever want to do! I used address labels! But still had to put it altogether and such!
