Hi there, hive!
I’m not usually the type to squeal, but when I got my acceptance email from Mrs. Penguin, my voice went up about three octaves as I turned to my beloved and said “ohmigodimgonnabeabee!” Up until that moment, I’d been veging on the couch in my jammy jams, but after I got the news, I had a few minutes of spazzy bouncing off the walls. I came across the ’bee several months ago and am beyond stoked to be a part of such a supportive, helpful and fun resource for brides-to-be.
A little bit about me: I was born and grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and moved to the city in my early 20s. I spend my days as an account manager at a digital agency and my nights running a fashion website which I hope to turn into a full-time job someday. I’m an internet addict and music snob who can’t pass a dog on the street without fawning all over it. If I could, I’d put everything I write into bulleted lists.
About the mister: He’s a Midwestern transplant who works as a designer admin, but he’s got hopes of becoming a writer someday. He has a love for sci-fi, the Smiths, and Clint Eastwood and has quite the talent for doing uncanny impressions. He loves to cook every day as a way to unwind (score for me!) and he’s the kindest, sweetest and funniest guy I’ve ever met.
About us: We met through friends. And at work. Actually, it’s sort of both. Mr. S migrated to Philly after graduating college and moved in with two of his friends. Those friends were two of my co-workers and they got him a job at our office. He had a long-distance girlfriend when we met and he and I started out as just friends. Fast forward to a year later, and he was single. I was fiercely independent and didn’t want a boyfriend, but he was tenacious and got me to fall in love with him just by being nice, honest, silly and adorable. Two years later, we moved in together, and four years after that, we’re gettin’ hitched! We’re total homebodies and foodies and we loooove our beagle, Basil (rhymes with “dazzle”) to an embarrassing degree.

About our wedding: We’re planning a quirky and festive outdoor celebration with tons of DIY and personal touches. We don’t have a specific theme; instead, we’re focusing on bright spring colors, a vintage/rustic feel, and staying as green as possible.
Why Miss Sloth? Well, I picked this moniker for two very special reasons:
1. I enjoy hanging upside-down from trees. No, I’m kidding. The real reason is that sloths are known as lazy creatures, and guess what—I’m lazy, you guys. If I could, I’d spend every day of my life snuggled under a blanket on the couch with the dog.
2. “Sloth” reminds me of a character from one of my favorite childhood movies—The Goonies, of course! Who can forget his iconic battle cry?
So, hey, you guys! I’m so delighted to be here and I can’t wait to share all of our wedding planning escapades with you!
xo
