Sattui Winery About Me: I'm an East Coast girl, living on a tiny little island in the Pacific, twirling, leaping, and shimmy-ing my way through life, and now, wedding planning! I'm equal parts nerdy and cool... okay, mostly nerdy. I love satin bows, red lipstick, black & white graphic anything, the shine of sequins and the sound of a champagne "pop". My favorite books are The Portrait of a Lady, by Henry James, and Tender is the Night, by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I can also conjure a pretty good Patronus Charm. I started my appreciation for good red wine while traveling on the high seas, and it's only fitting that my passion for wine drinking led me to my Napa-bred honey. We bonded over bottles of Cabernet on my oceanfront porch and haven't looked back since. We're sealing the deal at a winery in the Napa Valley on a 'perfect ten' of a day!
About Mrs. Barrettes

I’m currently tackling our wine charms. It’s an easy enough project to get my feet wet since I’m not a super-crafty bee, but I’m running into a roadblock. In my mind I would personalize little satin bows and hang them from wire fastened around a wine glass. But lo and behold, I can’t figure out a way to write on satin without the ink bleeding. Do you have any ideas, hive?

In the meantime, I’ll be printing the actual guest’s name on a 1″ name tag and will be seeing if that looks cute hanging from the charm. The purple bows will be for the ladies; men will have grey satin tied in more of a knot.

I also made little bracelets for our flower girls. This is way more fun! I made one for myself and I’m making one for Mrs. Sushi for when we meet-up.

Do you have any ideas for my wine charms? Sharpie pen bleeds as does any other ink pen I’ve tried. I’m sure I could have ordered personalized bows, but for 100+ guests with all different names, I’m looking for a cheaper solution.

I am making wine charms as well and using a paperpunch I bought at Jo-Annes on one sided scrapbook paper and putting the names on them that.

Have you tried painting with a small paintbrush, or those metallic pens? I find those don’t bleed as much as ink pens, I think because they act more like paint and sit more on top than soaking in.

Or what about metallic rubber stamping? And I think the tags would be really cute looking.

They make fabric markers, have you tried them? I think Michael’s has them. Try those, maybe.

What about .. well i don’t know what to call it other than “puffy paint” like the little bottles with a small tip that come in billions of colors? They’re pretty easy to use and it may be cool to have the names “stick out” from the ribbon? Not sure how tiny they can write though.. maybe initials instead?

I think using a tag will make the markers easier to read.

You could do a paper tag to loop through each tag, or get alphabet stamps and stamp each letter on to spell their names.

Try Staz-On ink and rubber stamps. Staz-on is a little stinky, but really permanent!

Memento ink might also work, especially if you iron it afterwards.

I’m not sure how big that ring is around the bow but would it be possible to purchase letter beads and put them on the ring?

Paint Pens. =) They come in ultra fine, and will write on anything.

Sharpies bleed too….? They have these nifty pen ones now that might work? Or a tag of some sort would work too maybe. :]

I haven’t tried this myself, but was reading a blog yesterday and it had a tutorial for printing on ribbon.. seems somewhat easy and might achieve the look you’re going for… hope it helps!!
