Ohhhh, Mexico!
So we’ve finally decided on our honeymoon destination. Woot woot! Zeb wanted over-water bungalows in Bora Bora, and I wanted Kona Village in Hawaii. In the end, the allure of an all-inclusive package with a short flight won out. I told Zeb he was crazy because a 20-hour flight sa-huuuucks!
How did we land at this decision? Definitely not by over thinking it, naturally. My cousin had mentioned that she loved her honeymoon destination in the Mayan Riviera (Riviera Maya? IDK!), and our travel agent only goes there. The travel agent showed us a brochure, and Zeb came across the El Dorado Royale. Hellllllooooo, lover! We honeymooned at the same resort in June and it was wonderful! Let me know if you want any more info… 
My guy and I went there last year and it was soooo beautiful. I just came from the Bahamas and it doesn’t hold a candle to the Riviera Maya or is it the Mayan Riviera…like you, IDK

You will love the Rivera Maya. We loved it so much we are getting married there! =)
One of my good friends has stayed at the El Dorado Royale and LOVED it! It’s adults only so you don’t have to worry about little rugrats running around the pool during your honeymoon!
We just returned from El Dorado Maroma (their sister property) and it was amazing! Not sure how the rooms compare, but we chose to upgrade to a honeymoon suite when we arrived and the view alone from the nicer room was worth it. Can’t wait to see your reviews!
OMG I’m booking my honeymoon this week and that is one of my front runners…I’m looking at Secrets and The Royal Playa del Carmen too! Don’t you just wish you could go there tomorrow?

We have been to the El Dorado Royale, it is by far the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. The spa was excellent, the food good and the drinks amazing. The best was the hamock on our balcony each afternoon. AHHHHH thanks for the mini vacation I needed that.
We went to Riviera Maya for our honeymoon (different resort, though) and it was great!
We went to the Riviera Maya for a vacation last year (different resort) and it was amazing. Take the day trip down to Tulum, but don’t waste a lot of time in the city of Playa del Carmen. We took an amazing excursion through a local company that was very reasonably priced - let me know if you would be interested in the info.
I recommend Xel-ha if you want to take a day off the resort. It is a “park” with snorkeling, zip lines, beautiful walking paths, etc. You might want to ask your travel agent about where to book it through to get the best price.
