Far Beyond Forever: Family Love

September 10th, 2010 @ 6:14 pm by Mrs. Guinea Pig

When I look through the photos from after the ceremony, Mr. Guinea Pig and I have huge smiles on our faces in all of them. I love it, and I think it speaks to just how happy we were right then. :D In our post-ceremony high after walking down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs., we hugged our beaming and/or crying parents:

Then the wedding party snuck into the bridal suite as our venue coordinators ushered all the guests towards cocktail hour. Our venue had already brought hors d’oeuvres and drinks to the room for all of us, so we were ready to celebrate!

Mr. GP and I did a little ’cheers’, and everyone stood around for a bit enjoying a bite to eat and toasting to our newly minted marriage.

Then it was time to head outside to get our group photo on. But first, some last minute mirror checks (makes me so happy to see my best friends helping each other out!):

Mr. GP and I then snapped photos with our families, as the wedding party mingled with guests and enjoyed some of cocktail hour.

As it turned out, I was not the only one who couldn’t stop crying—Mr. GP’s sisters and mom had been struck by the happy crying bug too!

Now for a quick photo tour of our families…

Meanwhile, Mr. GP’s dad made sure everyone stayed entertained while photos were being taken. :)

Everyone always talks about a photojournalistic approach to wedding photography, which I completely and wholeheartedly believe in (obviously! Since this is what I chose and I think our photographer, Amy, is excellent with this style), but I also really appreciated the fact that Amy got some group portraits that really captured everyone’s happy emotions. And even though the wind forced us to take photos inside, I actually sort of like the white background for these shots because it helps the people (and their awesome outfits) stand out!

Up next: The bridal party adventures into the wind and lives to tell the tale. With some sand in their teeth.

Great photos. I love how both you and Mr. GP are taller than both of his parents! Too funny.

The same thing happened to us, bc of the rain we had to take pictures under the awning of our ceremony site but they ended up looking great bc the building was made out of stone, so I still got the rustic effect I was hoping for!

And before I even read what you wrote, I thought how much I liked how light and airy the white, wooden backdrop was…So in short, I think your family photos are great!

We had to take our portraits in our hotel lobby because of the rain, so I know what you mean. The white background for your portraits really makes everyone look great and stand out! :)

And, I really can’t get over how gorgeous you look — and your bouquet! Yowza…not sure if I just didn’t see it before, but it’s awesome!
