Well, hey there hive! I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to be the newest bee!!

The morning I got my acceptance email from Mrs. Penguin was just another Saturday in the Meerkat house. I was in the bathroom getting ready so I could go run some errands when Mr. Meerkat saw the email pop up on my computer. Being the sneak he is, he stole a peek. When he saw that I had been accepted, he came into the bathroom with this HUGE grin on his face and told me he had some good news. He teased for a couple minutes, asking what it was worth to me. I just laughed. Finally he ‘fessed up and told me I had been accepted. I did a full body, legs wrapped around Mr. Meerkat’s waist, jump into his arms. I was screaming and yelling the whole time, “OMG ARE YOU SURE???” Alright, so maybe it wasn’t really a typical day, but it sure was nice. *grin*

I chose Miss Meerkat because from the moment I saw that cute little icon he reminded me of our overly spoiled shih-tzus, Wicket and Bravo.

(Yes, Wicket really does stand just like a meerkat when he’s begging for food.)

So who are the Meerkats, you ask?

Mr. Meerkat and I are just a couple geeks from Michigan who love to laugh. I’m a faded t-shirt and jeans wearing, garage band lovin’, hot tea drinkin’, tomboy. Mr. Meerkat is a polo shirt wearing, latte drinking, home improving, health nut. He is my polar opposite in so many ways and because of that we make a darn good team! We love going out to the movies with friends, trying new foods, techy toys, spoiling our dogs and above all else, we love each other.

It took us all of about 12 hours after we got engaged to decide to have a destination wedding. We love, love, love to travel! We are planning a rustic-chic travel themed wedding in the Riviera Maya for this December with a semi-formal, vintage turned modern, outdoor at home reception in June.

These next few months are going to be crazy but I’m looking forward to sharing our wedding adventures with all of you!!!
