I couldn't live without thrift store shopping, cheeseburgers, sushi, Coke Zero, websites devoted to silly photos of baby animals, Photoshop, and Mr. Sloth. Speaking of which, he and I are a pair of goofball homebody nerds who love our beagle (the most ridiculously adorable dog EVER) to an embarrassing degree. True Colors

September 12th, 2010 @ 11:20 am by Ms. Sloth

When we first looked at Philadelphia’s Magic Garden and fell in love with it, I had visions of cobalt blue and teal being our main wedding colors. They are probably my two favorite colors anyway, and they would look perfect with the crazy mosaic backdrop, as the whole place features those colors pretty heavily.

When we looked at Bartram’s Garden and fell even more in love with it, I scrapped the whole blue idea all together. It just looks like a warm-tones type of place and I found myself dreaming of yellows, oranges, and raspberry/magenta/fuchsia/whatever you want to call it.

And then I came across this bright, fabulous wedding online. And although this phrase is already totally overused in the wedding blogosphere, I have to say it anyway.

I DIE.

Seriously, look at this wedding:

When your venue is already gorgeous, there’s no need to over-decorated

Yellow poms? Love.

I love chalkboards as wedding decor. This is just fabulous.

And the shoes! So bright and fun!

But this is the photo that totally made me fall in love with this wedding. The mismatched bridesmaids’ dresses make me want to cry—in a good way.

There’s a big part of me that just wants to be totally lazy, and steal every idea from this wedding. Sigh.

Were you inspired by any weddings that you saw featured online? How much inspiration did you take from them?

Love it too! Steal the ideas away. I’m also going for a super colorful wedding, but think autumn inspired brightness. Hooray!

I agree that there’s significant power in seeing a beautifully cohesive wedding. I’d rarely find inspiration in a pair of shoes or a particular flower, but I would be giddy love-and-stealing-it-all about certain weddings. I think that’s what helped me decide to focus on cohesiveness over “I love this flower and that dress and these centerpieces…”

Love that venue and the magenta/tangerine/goldenrod (using my fancy color words!) scheme too. Just gorgeous.

I fell in love with Elizabeth Fillmore bridal gowns after seeing a wedding online recently. And the colors! I can completely relate!

Totally with you on there being no need to do much decorating when you’ve got a venue that’s already gorgeous - that was pretty close to our top priority in picking a venue. There’s no shame in stealing wedding ideas if you’re in love with that one, I say go forth!

The photo of the bridesmaids mis-matched dresses is fantastic. Can only imagine how great the rest of the bridesmaids photos turned out.

Ahhh! I’m dying WITH you! This wedding is absolutely GORGEOUS!! I love it ALL!! Those yellow poms are something else! The venue is great! Awesome choice. It’s nice when you don’t have to do a lot, right? I love your inspiration. And yes, I’m constantly, probably too often inspired by images in the wedding blogsphere!!

Is that the Smog Shoppe in LA? Every time I see a wedding take place there on that damn SMP or 100 Layer Cake, I die of envy - I wish we could afford it! The colors in this wedding are fab. Seriously, I read so many wedding blogs and I always see a real wedding everyday that makes me re-think our whole thing!

Everything looks so gorgeous. I love the poms and the BM dresses. I have gotten some inspirations from boards especially weddingbee. Honestly, I’m kind of shamefaced at the amount of inspiration I’ve gotten from this board :)
