Cute Cocktail Dresses for My ‘Maids

September 14th, 2010 @ 4:25 pm by Mrs. Brooch

One thing you’ll probably hear me talk about a lot is bridesmaid’s dresses. Why? Well, like the situation with my dress (we’ll get there soon), I have no idea what I want. I’m indecisive and inspired by everything. This is not a good combination!

I’ve talked about liking brand-name dresses and mismatched styles, but there’s another type of dress that always seems to catch my attention: cocktail dresses. Short or knee-length styles in bright colors, such as green, yellow, or pink, with flirty designs like ruffles or a sweetheart neckline.

When I came across the image below, I fell even more in love with the short-dress style. Aren’t they gorgeous? Of course, the green struck me (because green is my favorite color), but the dress is adorable. It’s young and fun. It’s casual and sophisticated. Check out the girl on the far left, too. Her dress is a little different. Maybe she’s the MOH? Cute, huh?

(and custom made I might mention…how perfect)

Where have you been all my life, Sarah?

I love these designs. They are just what I have in mind. Soft and feminine. Sexy yet subtle. If they don’t make it to my wedding, they’ll at least make it into my closet! Ha!

One thing is clear, I need to get my inspiration in order! My girls aren’t going to know what to pick with all these choices. I might take after Miss Elephant and make a PowerPoint!

Do you love various types of bridesmaid’s dresses?

How did you share your ideas with your bridesmaids?

Be careful before ordering from Sarah Seven, Miss Brooch! Don’t forget about Mrs. Cowboy Boot’s exeprience: http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/09/22/the-bridesmaids-dresses-that-were/

Ohhh i’m in love with that top picture! My MOH and I searched online for a couple months and swapped links of dresses we liked for the girls! Then we all met up and tried a bunch on… they all looks GREAT in a short, black number and we decided to get them! I love them… so much that I almost want to go buy one to add to my personal wardrobe. You hit it on the head with “young, fun, casual yet sophisticated”…. Ahh dresses are fun. :)

Miss Brooch,
I was just going to come in here and warn you about Sarah. I ordered my rehearsal dinner dress from her back in February and I am yet to get any emails from her after I paid. There is no recourse to get my money back either. So I am out of $450. Her work is amazing but I think she takes on more than she can handle. Just a warning and good luck in the dress search for your girls.

Oh my, so pretty and feminine but kind of worried with Mochacoca’s feedback? Anyone else have any feedbacks for Sarah?

I love, love, love cocktail and tea-length bridesmaid dresses, esp for Spring, Summer, and early fall weddings. For Winter you might want to go with long…but def flowy! Be careful odering sarah seven dresses from the Store of Dresses. I paid to have it rushed in 20days and it’s been well over a month and still have not received the dress. We wanted to order 4 for our brides maids and decided to start by ordering 1 to make sure we liked it and we are still waiting. We ordered the cute one at the bottom. I’ll let you know when/if we get it.
