Mrs. Cola's Picture
Mrs. Cola, Mountain View, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Product Communications and Promotions Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Managing Partner and Senior Designer Engagement Date: March 5, 2009 Wedding Date: June 2010 Venue: The Mountain Terrace, Woodside, CA About Me: I’m a Washington State native, enjoying life in Silicon Valley California with my fiancé, our three kitties and one leopard gecko. I like reading wedding blogs, Photoshopping wedding design mock ups, making lists, and planning, planning, planning! I’m a bit of an anomaly, on one side I’m a very girlie girl, I collect shoes, I lay out my outfits 4-6 weeks in advance, and I’d never leave the house without my hair curled and makeup on. But on the other side, I’m a total tomboy, I love to go camping and hiking, play drinking games (hey, I’m Irish!) and most of my closest friends are guys. My fiancé and I are planning a DIY-focused wedding with a balance between easygoing (what he wants) and chic and stylish (what I want), and are tying it all together with elements in lavender, sage, butter cream and chocolate.
About Mrs. Cola

It’s 3 AM in the Morning…

September 15th, 2010 @ 2:10 pm by Mrs. Cola

Put my key in the door and…Eminem anyone? Anyone? OK, maybe I’m just delirious from lack of sleep, because it’s 3AM as I write this (ETA: and then forgot to hit publish until this morning, d’oh!).

And you may have noticed that it’s been a whole week-and-a-half since my last blog post (hangs head in shame). So this is just a quick apology for my absence. I know many other bloggers have paused their wedding recaps for much longer, but see, I take blogging very seriously. Especially once I got accepted to blog for Weddingbee, I always promised myself that I would take the 3-4 posts per week commitment to heart, even as time consuming as posting that often is (the Bee’s Life series has touched on the commitment Bee bloggers make several times, and is a good read for anyone interested in applying). Prior to our wedding 3 months ago I never once slipped below 3 posts per week, and since our wedding I’ve been holding strong at 2 posts per week (even on our honeymoon!).

However, last week I only posted once. And this week, well, this is what I’ve got. A middle of the night post. So, I’m sorry!

But stay tuned, because we finally just GOT OUR PRO PICS!!!

Just over three months from our wedding day (13 ½ weeks, but who’s counting, right?) I’m doing the happy dance, because our pictures are killer! I’ve been up all night looking and looking at almost 1400 of them, all beautifully edited, telling the story of our day.

And so don’t you all worry, I’m still here, and I’ve got a ton of recaps coming your way just as soon as I manage to narrow down our favorite photos to share. How we’ll do that, with so many great shots, I’m not sure. I sure wish I could call in sick tomorrow, or manage to stay up any later going over pictures, but for now, this will have to do.

About a week and a half and some of that was because I told her not to release them unitl we were back from our Honeymoon. I don’t think she did much editing.

Oh no worries Cola, I’m sure readers will understand (or at least I hope they do)….I do feel you though I am feeling super guilty about my light posting lately….it’s just been soo freaking crazy and I sometimes think I put up a post only to find a day later it didn’t get published (oops) Anyway we look forward to your recaps!

It personally drives me up the wall when blogging Bees go totally MIA after their weddings - but you are not one of them! I enjoy your recaps and always thought you kept the bar raised high! Looking forward to more, Cola!!

I’m just waiting to see more of your shoes! Our pictures took a week, but she’s just starting out on her own and I’ve known her husband for about 10 years.

Aww Cola, I love all your posts. And I just wanted to tell you that as a reader, I have noticed and so appreciated that you keep up with the posting! It was such a treat to get your posts still coming through while you were away on honeymoon and the like.
We get so invested in the ’stories’ of the bloggers, so I get a bit sad when some of the ‘Mrs’ bees seem to disappear after their wedding.
So just wanted to say a very big Thank You, and I love all your posts! :-)

I completely understand Miss Cola. No need to worry about it. I’ll be looking forward to your recaps when you have the time. Take some time for yourself and then work on those posts. Everyone needs a rest some time.

Ours took about 2 1/2 months…and we didn’t receive anything close to 1400! Can’t wait to see some!

I am so very impressed with your dedication as a blogger. I don’t think the bee bloggers realize how invested and involved we become in reading about there wedding, so it’s always sad when they dissappear after the big day. I have definitely noticed how regular your posts were, very much appreciated!

yay pro pics! our pro pics took believe it or not, about 6 weeks. i think it was because it was the off-season and we had just one photographer. 13.5 weeks is not bad!

We got ours back exactly 8 weeks after our wedding, and our photographer gave us 1400 images! I was getting a little impatient, but I totally thought it was a reasonable amount of time for all of the editing work they put in! P.S. Everyone is impressed with how much you post! Just enjoy looking at your photos, and start the recaps when it feels right! :)

I see Sharon Park! I’ve been looking forward to seeing your first look (not to mention the wedding) cause I grew up in the area, and I miss it. Can’t tell you how many hours I sat under that arbor by the pond.

Thanks everyone for understanding about my lag in posting! I’m so jealous of those of you who got your pictures back quickly, but I know sometimes it’s worth the wait!

@Miss Locket: Don’t feel bad! You can always make up for it after the wedding, and come back and share what you didn’t have time for before!

@TheFutureMcBride: Bwahaha! You just wait, our photogs took SO many pics of my shoes! :)

@periwinkle: I LOVE our first look pictures from Sharon Park! Some of my favorite pictures from the whole day–such a beautiful little park that you wouldn’t expect to find in the middle of a residential area!
