Mrs. Frozen Yogurt's Picture
Mrs. Frozen Yogurt, Dallas Age and Occupation: 28, Special Projects Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Equity Trader Engagement Date: March 19, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2010 Venue: Marie Gabrielle, Dallas About Me: I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived in several of the cities across the state, but I currently reside in Austin. I went to college in Boston and have a special place in my heart for the Northeast. I love reading, shopping, wine, reuniting with college friends that are scattered across the country, reality TV, trying out new recipes, and attempting all the DIY projects that come along with wedding planning. I'm a "bleeding heart, save the world type" and thankfully my job allows me to work on legislation and policy to help out those in need. I met Mr. Frozen Yogurt in a bar, though he doesn't even drink! And now we are planning a modern yet vintage wedding in Dallas while dealing with the trials and tribulations of first time homeownership.

Dress Time!

September 15th, 2010 @ 10:37 am by Mrs. Frozen Yogurt

Now that everyone else was ready, it was my turn to slip on my dress. My stomach was all fluttery and I couldn’t wait to put it on. I felt like my hands were shaky and my heart was racing, but it was all because of the excitement. It was our wedding day!!

I got my shoes ready:

And, put on my wedding day jewelry:

I stepped into my dress:

Here’s where things got difficult. I’d purposely worn a dress that I could just slide off that didn’t have to go over my head. But this meant that I would be standing there nakey in my really hot Spanx, and I didn’t think anyone needed to see that, nor did we need to get video or pictures of that. So, my sister held up my wedding dress as I slipped off my other dress and tried not to mess up my hair.

I was in! Now it was time to zip it up. Of course, my niece and flower girl was there to help:

And just to be sure nothing fell out, I gave my dress an extra tug:

Then, I put on my Something Blue shoes. Again, my niece helped (with her silly bandz on):

Then I was all ready for our big reveal!

I opted for the all out nakey from the waist up in front of my best girls, they saw more of me than I’m sure they ever thought they would! Eh, they’re only boobies, right?

Haha, nice maneuvering! I just straight up came out in my strapless bra and spanx and was like - all right, let’s get this dress on! I love your whole ensemble - hair, dress, shoes. You looked fabulous Fro Yo!

Those are some impressive dressing skills! And you look sooooo pretty!! Since I totally flashed my boob to my FMIL during dress shopping, I have no problem with the idea of full exposure in front of my besties on our wedding day. It’s nothin they haven’t seen before, since we all used to change in locker rooms together in high school!

@Mrs. Pug: Ha. Who says I didn’t? Maybe I just kept it off the blog. :)
@Mrs. Guinea Pig: Aww, thank you!!
@Mrs. Nachos: You’re so right. I think it just felt weird to be the only one changing at that point.
@emma5w: It’s so true. Why am I so modest?? Maybe it was the fact that the Spanx came up so high that made me feel extra silly.

Aww, you look so gorgeous! I was nervous about getting dressed in front of everyone, too — and I also wore a dress that I could slip off easily. I was more worried about “up front” than my booty, so I totally flashed my bridesmaids my “bride” undies. I had no idea I was doing it until one of my bridesmaids said “does it say ‘bride’ on your butt?!?” :) Busted.

I am still working on the modest dressing attempt….I have to think of a way to make it work without flashing my girls!

Hmmm…I think I’m going to have to work on the modest dressing. I haven’t quite thought that out completely. But I LOVE your dress and shoes! :)

You looked great, I love it! You’ve got me wondering how I’m going to maneuver…FI’s sisters will be there and we don’t quite have the familiarity I do with my other girls…When my cousin was dressing for hers she actually stopped everyone before she put her dress on and made them take her pic while she did a silly pose in her gutchies and veil! More nerve than me! :)

You look so beautiful! The dress! The shoes! I love the shot of you kneeling down on the floor-full on, “doing what it takes to get ready” mode.

@Miss Locket, @SandraMarie_1986, @taramarie97: I know! It’s a lot to think about. I didn’t have it figured out except for the part about wearing something that could easily come off. I didn’t think about how there would be a room full of people really excited about me putting my dress on, and several of them with cameras.
@Mrs. Pin Cushion: That’s right, girl! Whatever it takes. :)
