About Mrs. Lobster

Punching Paper in the FACE.

September 15th, 2010 @ 2:28 pm by Mrs. Lobster

I showed you my printer/paper challenges.

Then I wiped my tears away and kicked it in to high gear. I recruited Mr. Lobster and my lovely sister to help me with the rest of the stuff. They worked hard into the wee hours of the night and then the next day (and the next day).

Yes, honey, that bow is the right length (no, it’s not! redo!)

Drum roll please for the results of their hard labor:

Just kidding. More program assembly pics. I just love the polka dots! Originally I wanted a layer of vellum on top of the cover, but by then I was over it and loved how the programs looked printed just the way they were.

And, now! The full guest suite.

Hm. That escort card looks like a reject. I promise they looked better in person.

Font & Design Details

For the menu fonts, I used honey script from dafont.com and Futura (which came with Microsoft Word). I printed them on linen text weight paper in Solar White and backed them on 80 lb linen cover in Charcoal.

4fifteen designed and printed the programs which were an awesome combo of our wedding invitation and my bridal shower. We tied the programs with leftover twine from the wedding invites (and still had enough leftover for the favors!).

The escort cards were purchased from Staples and printed at work on a giant office printer. THAT is the way to go my friends. I used Freebooter Script for the names.

For the favor labels, I used EcuyerDax from dafont.com again. I originally had a circle border but then it kept printing off the label so I gave that up. Then my sister had a life-saving idea to just print a pattern over the whole square and forget the border. So I did. Of course the printer STILL had to be temperamental and did not print 4 of the labels so I had to run the labels through the printer again.

WTF

Thank goodness I had help in the eleventh hour. There’s no way I could have done it all myself and Mr. Lobster and my sister helped tremendously. Thanks, guys!

Did you enlist your family and significant other’s help in your projects? How did you change your design details at the last minute to finish your projects?

@sunset: I got the twine from divinetwine.com but you can also find twine on etsy.com and other suppliers if you google “baker’s twine”
