Mrs. Pretzel's Picture
Mrs. Pretzel, Seattle Age and Occupation: 32 Learning, Training, and Development Specialist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28 Manufacturing Engineer Engagement Date: September 2, 2009 Wedding Date: July 2010 Venue: Catholic Church & The Engine Room at Georgetown Studios About Me: I’m just a thirty-something girl who never dreamed of weddings, poofy dresses, or ritzy receptions. I am a rabid knitter, except recently, wedding projects have replaced my yarn and needles. I’ve been fiercely independent since the age of 2 and 30 years later I think my family and friends had given up on me settling down and getting married. Ironically, I had to go all the way to Seattle to find a boy from Purdue. We fell in love over Seattle Beers and cooking together. I love NASCAR, he loves Legos. I can talk like a Muppet and he can fit a whole McDonald’s cheeseburger in his mouth. We are a two reception couple, currently planning a brewery inspired bash.
About Mrs. Pretzel

Woot, Woot, FAIL

September 15th, 2010 @ 6:53 pm by Mrs. Pretzel

I’m all for celebrating little victories.

The first victory of the week is that we’ve been married 65 days, give or take a few, and we are slowly making room for my crap…or as Mr P lovingly calls it, “our crap.” The “stuff-that-needs-to-come-in-the-house-and-find-a-home” pile has gotten small enough to actually move it into the house. Woot woot! This small pile Piles in general causes me much anxiety (a whole post for another time) but I think I’m OK with our progress on the merging of two houses so far. Go team Pretzel!

The aforementioned pile, and what is that I spy? Why yes that is a hideous ballroom dancing trophy… another post for another day.

Last week I realized we were under 80 days away from our second reception in Indiana. Whoa…

I had a mini freak-out moment when I realized that our invitations for this party needed to get in the mail by the end of September. With the help of our amazing photographers (gosh, I love them!) and from some “cows” I am halfway home on the invitations.

Like I said, little victories…

Today in the mail I got the cutest moo postcards and mini cards.

I swoon!

That’s the start of some 2nd reception invitations there! I couldn’t contain myself and had to mock-up an example.

Come on, I know what you are thinking it and you are very observant.

“hummm… Pretzel, I hate to tell you but there is no info on your invitations”

I tried real hard to outsource 100% our invitations but my trusty pal, “Loco the Gocco,” was feeling a little forgotten and I felt guilty. I couldn’t resist letting him get in on at least part of the invitation. So now I just have to figure out what to print on the back.

Just as I am basking in the glory of progress on the “household merging” and the “invitation making” my eye catches sight of a major FAIL. Did you see it in the photos above?

No? I’ll wait while you go back and look.

Need some help?

Apparently I would like to “Inroduce” you to Mr and Mrs Pretzel. GAHHHH!

Somebody *Pretzel points at herself* was so excited to order these postcards that she didn’t proofread the text. I showed Mr P, who shook his head at me and rolled his eyes. I fixed the error and ordered more of that design (an additional $40 because of my lack of attention).

Two small victories and one major fail…I guess that means that I am +1 for the week so far, right? *Sigh*

Anyone else find a typo in their invitations?

*Confession, we actually had one in our 1st invites too… “Nuptal” instead of “Nuptial” but nobody noticed that we know of…

They may be a FAIL, but they still look prettier than many actual wedding invitations I’ve seen. I can’t imagine turning around a few weeks after your wedding and jumping right into the planning and prep for a second reception, you guys must be suckers for this stuff. :)

At first I was anxious about having a long to do list. Now that I’ve acquired most the items I need for the wedding, I am anxious about the piles I’ve accumulated in the guest bedroom and dining room. Boxes, lanterns, baskets everywhere!

I do love your invitations. :)

Oh me!!! My fiance lovingly did our rehearsal dinner invitations for us. He isn’t the best speller in the world and misspelled both rehearsal and appetizer. Oh, well. Just letting it slide. Not much can be done after they’ve already been sent.

Totally had our engagement announcements printed and out to people before I noticed that we spelled announcement wrong. We missed the third ‘n’. Who noticed? My FMIL, who I don’t always get along with. My grandma has hers framed, spelling error and all.

So you are not the only woman to be excited to print things and not spell check!

Ah dang. Proofreading is always such a drag. And I am with you about the piles-they cause me a lot of anxiety too. I hate piles of paper, clothes, anything. It’s hard for me to sleep knowing that things are not in their place!!

I had a typo on our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner invites. I noticed it before they even arrive, but there there was nothing I could do. I correct them and ordered a new set - just like you.

These are such fun invitations! I missed typos too, but luckily I did my own and someone caught it early on.
