Warning: The following post is probably not appropriate for work. Also: Mr E, don’t you dare read any further! Thanks muchly.
I’m talking about my wedding night lingerie, of course
For some reason, choosing my duds for the night seemed like an overwhelming ordeal at first. See, I had it stuck in my head that wedding night lingerie has to be the “ultimate” in lingerie, the best he will ever see me in, so to speak. This set me up for failure, because whenever I came across something I liked, I would put off buying it because “something better might come along.” I was in despair of ever finding the “perfect” outfit until one day when I was browsing through an online lingerie shop and I realised, “Hey. This isn’t going to be the last time I wear lingerie. I will be able to wear pretty lingerie whenever I feel like it. So, perfection isn’t necessary here!”
After I figured out that, lingerie shopping suddenly became a lot more fun.
I knew what I wanted: polka dots, maybe a hint of lace, something that says “sexy” but not “slutty,” if you know what I mean. Mr E likes black (TMI, sorry), but I really don’t want to wear black on my wedding night when I can wear it any other time.
There was one other problem with my lingerie shopping—a lot of the things I fell in love with are only available in America or the UK *sad face*. Please Claire Pettibone, come to New Zealand…I came across Mrs. Poodle’s amazing post on how she made her own gorgeous polka-dotted creation, but as tempted as I was, I couldn’t add another DIY project to my burgeoning plate.
Finally, after quite a few hours web surfing (I spend way, way too much time on the internet…) I came across two pieces of lingerie that seem “just right.”
and
They have just enough ruffles and sweetness about them to make me feel pretty and confident, with a hint of spice. The second one is a little more “bridal” but the top one is just so darn cute that I couldn’t resist, and besides, they were both on sale. I’m not sure which one I will wear on the night yet, but I figure I will try them on when they arrive and I will wear the one that makes me feel the best. And the other one can always be worn on the honeymoon.
Phew! Now I have that job ticked off the list!
