I thought it would be perfect for the ceremony program – one pane for the actual program, one to list the wedding party, one to give our thanks to friends & family, and one instructing guests to seat themselves.
I scoured Craigslist, and found this lil’ beauty:

I spent an afternoon cleaning it up, scraping paint from the glass, and getting it ready to paint another color. When I picked it up to admire my handiwork…

One of the panes slipped from the frame and crashed onto the top of my bare foot. I’ve edited the blood out of the glass, so as not to make anyone sick (I get kind of queasy around blood). But it hurt. And I was pissed.
So I did what any self-respecting, proactive bride would – I ignored it. For weeks.
Coming up in Part II: another foot injury, more broken glass, and two beautiful windows.
What kind of projects did you have go awry? Any resulting in bodily injury?
