Seating Inspiration

September 16th, 2010 @ 8:14 am by Mrs. Brooch

I got off to a rough start the other day because I woke up at the time I should have been arriving to work! I stayed up late the night before cleaning my room (which means organizing wedding stuff) and watching Girl Meets Gown. I watched three episodes (whew!) and was so inspired that I wrote a post about my dream wedding dress that I’ll share with you later on!

In the meantime, here are a few great images that will hopefully make today a bit more cheery for you all! I really want to have lounge furniture scattered throughout our venue. Through Wedding Chicks right here I found the company found, which specializes in supplying event planners and brides with vintage rentals. There are a ton of great workable pieces on their website!

I also discovered another rental service called Party Rental Ltd, which serves the Washington, D.C. area and has lots and lots of great items to fill your venue with style. They have a great inspiration gallery, called “Looks We Love,” that will excite the bride in you! Believe me, I’d totally snag this Pear Green and White Stripe look for my wedding.

I’m going to talk to a planner about bringing in furniture we own to save money, but the problem with that is the setup and breakdown, of course. There’s obviously a lot to figure out before my vision of great furniture all over our venue comes to life, but we’ll get there!

Luckily for us, a few folks have had their weddings at Oxon Hill before us! Here’s an image I found on Event Accomplished of a wedding at our venue that had lounge furniture. This is a picture of the actual foyer of our venue, and I must admit, the furniture looks fabulous! It makes the room more inviting and way more upscale and modern. They got this awesome lounge furniture from Da Vinci’s Florist.

We really like the all-white furniture, but there’s no telling what we’ll go with. We need to visit one of these rental warehouses and see for ourselves the options. Here are a few images I’ve collected from around the web that have inspired this idea…

What do you think about this look? Do you think we could pull it off on the cheap?

I looooove lounge furniture at weddings and I’ve seen quite a few pictures of it at backyard weddings (like I’m having). But all the rental companies I’ve looked at are too rich for my blood- we simply can’t afford it! I’m sure the hive will come to your rescue with affordable rental options!

I loooove lounge furniture! We used it in our wedding this past weekend, and it was a huge hit. But, it was not a look that can be pulled off “on the cheap”. That simple setup in the foyer of you venue could have easily cost $800 (remember that places usually cost a $300-400 delivery/setup fee on top of any rental!)

I love the look - but I’d be surprised if you can pull it off without spending an arm and a leg. Dang it… I wish I would work this into our budget but *sigh* it’s just not happening! Oh well! :)

I love lounge furniture at weddings, but I’ve never seen it done in real life. If you can do it on the cheap, you’ll need to share your tips!

I’m floored by this look. I’d love to go to a wedding with some, I haven’t been lucky enough yet. I think it would be a fun, unique touch to use your own furniture, but it would be a pita to take home at the end of the night.

I love love love lounge furniture, but it tends to be on the expensive side.

Love the look of it, but seriously doubt you can do it without spending beaucoup bucks. Rentals in general aren’t typically done on the cheap.. particularly furniture.

I love having lounge furniture at a reception. Does your venue not have any on site that you can use? We were lucky that our cocktail room already has couches in it, otherwise we wouldn’t be able to afford the rentals.

While it would mean doing it yourself, try checking out the after season sales at Target, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. There might still be some outdoor furniture around that would be worth the investment. My FH and I bought some from Walmart to use because we can use it at our first home once we move next year.
