About Mrs. Pudding

Our Unniversary

September 20th, 2010 @ 7:21 pm by Mrs. Pudding

Two years ago today, Mr. Pudding and I legally declared our commitment to each other. For those who are new to the hive, you may have missed my post about our “Engagement Party“. Here is a little refresher:

Our Unniversary : wedding anniversary vermont 101 309 101_309

Our Unniversary : wedding anniversary vermont 101 312 101_312

Our Unniversary : wedding anniversary vermont 101 314 101_314

We have always known that we would not celebrate the anniversary of our legal marriage, choosing to commemorate what we consider to be our real wedding date: the day we stood in front of our family, friends, and God, and promised to love and honour one another. Still, it feels a little weird today not to even acknowledge this event, you know?

I know that there are more couples in the hive that have had a civil ceremony before having their “real” wedding. Which anniversary do you celebrate?

Celebrate both! You can just make him a card or make him a special breakfast or something just to remember the day. I think we will celebrate our second wedding just because it will be in july and there is less going on in July. Our first wedding was in December the same month as my husbands birthday and Christmas.

My parents had 2 anniversary dates, July and Oct of the same year. They did a JOP first then because my grandmother wanted to see her only child get married in a church they did it again in Oct. My father used to always joke, “she loved me so much she married me twice”! I just realized that I don’t think they took any pictures of their day in July but there wedding album from Oct has both the dates inscribed on the front. I’ll have to ask my dad about that. So Happy Unniversary!

Congratulations! We also had a civil “ceremony” and we will be celebrating both, with something small on that anniversary and a bigger celebration on the day we stood up in front of family and friends and said our vows. Have a great day!

I tried to talk Mr. SD into celebrating both, but no dice! I’d prefer the courthouse date in May, because anniversary vacation options seem endless ;) But he really wanted to go with the wedding date, so that’s what we’ll celebrate

@smw332: I got it at The Bay, which is a Canadian department store. I will most likely be listing it for sale soon, since I no longer have need for the several white/cream/ivory dresses I acquired during our engagement. PM me if you are interested!

Yay! More pudding posts!

I think our dating anniversary is tomorrow. I’m not really sure…we only celebrated it once!

Happy Unniversary!

We had our civil ceremony the year before the wedding, so they share the same date. ;)

Ah congrats! If I were you, I take the excuse to celebrate both-even it was just a glass of wine on your “unniversary”!
