Mr. Plaid’s Bling

September 20th, 2010 @ 2:21 pm by Mrs. Plaid

I just realized that I never shared Mr. Plaid’s bling with y’all. (I know that title is totally lame. Let me just say that coming up with titles is definitely not my strong suit. Sorry.)

Just stating for the record, I am ecstatic that Mr. Plaid actually wants to wear a ring. It seems to me that about half the married men in the world wear a ring, while the other half don’t. I think it’s nice when the man wears a ring because it’s like they’re bragging about their awesome wife! That’s probably not the reason guys wear a ring, but it sounds good to me so I’m just gonna go with it. ;)

However, Mr. Plaid is in the same boat as I am. He works with his hands, using large power tools, and can’t wear his ring to work. Boo. Or rather, shouldn’t wear his ring so as to avoid any crazy accidents involving his ring and/or his finger having to be removed. Eeek!

But when he’s not working he’ll be sporting this beauty come the end of October:

Mr. Plaid's Bling : wedding austin rings Dscn03902 Our rings together!

It’s it gorgeous? It’s white gold with a tungsten carbide inlay. It’s very heavy, at least compared to my featherweight ring. I really hope he can get used to wearing it as he is very much a non-jewelry wearing type of man.

Was your FI excited to wear his/her wedding band? Was it an easy choice or a challenge to find something they liked?

P.S. I promise I’ve got more DIY coming this week. I know the DIY storm that I started with has been a little lacking as of late, but there is more to come, I promise!

Ahhhh! J has the exact same ring! It just came last Friday and he’s been wearing it around the house on his right hand ever since :)

Isn’t it fun seeing them excited about being married?

It’s a great ring right? I love seeing him get excited! And I think I’m gonna love seeing it on his hand in a few more weeks!

Oh I love it!! Mr. M. is looking at a tungsten ring. He loved how light weight it was.

My fiance is looking at a tungsten ring too–the one he likes the most is very similar to mr. plaids only the center colors are a little different. I was shocked he liked that one as I figured he’d go for something white gold and lightweight!

We’re getting Mr. Meno a ring to wear “sometimes”. He is a chef so wearing it while cooking is, well, yucky!

As a side note, Mr. Meno was married before. He said he was constantly hit on while wearing his ring. Hmmmmm….

I really like Mr. Plaid’s ring!

I’m rather meh on my Fh’s ring… he wants what we have taken to calling “the girly ring”. 14k white gold with channel set princess cut Ceylon sapphires set in either a 3/4 or full eternity band. Of course he wants his size 10.5 to be 6mm wide. The only non-custom we find are made for women and so at most 4mm wide. Bring on another costume job!

Very pretty ring! My husband picked his out in about five minutes, just as I did with my band, and he was very eager to wear it. He has his on more often than I have mine on.

Great ring! My FI is really pumped about his ring, too. He shows it to everyone who walks in our house!
