Programs!

September 21st, 2010 @ 6:54 pm by Mrs. Seashell

When I started researching inspiration for our wedding programs, I had one thing in mind: keep it simple. As much as I love a beautiful, intricate, interesting programs, I couldn’t help but feel heartbroken by the idea that most people throw them away after leafing through them during the ceremony. I searched the Weddingbee Gallery and I found this lovely one by hive member Joie De Vie:

Inspiration found! Then, I made it my own.

First, I stamped:

{Stamp from Paper Source}

Mr. Seashell cut and then rounded corners:

I documented ink drying:

And then after hours of gluing, they were complete:

Simple and sweet - just what I wanted!

Did you opt for simple programs knowing that people typically toss them or did you go for something intricate regardless?

Beautiful! I was just planning on printing it all up on cardstock, but I like the idea of backing it on in my case navy and maybe silver stamp. Not too much extra work! I know by the time I do programs I will be burnt out.

I love that stamp!! i plan to have very simple one sheet programs also…the intricate ones just get thrown out anyway and its bit if a waste of paper to be honest..

Love them!!! So so cute (and nice that they weren’t too complicated). We did the crazy fan programs, but it was worth it…only 10 left at the end of the ceremony (we made 150).

It looks fantastic! You’re sooo right about people tossing them after the ceremony, too, which is disappointing, but ah well, what can you do?

Very pretty. I opted for simple as well. They were done 3 months before the wedding and it was lovely.

They came out lovely! I Definitely like the simple approach b/c the fate of program is usually quite sad…we actually didn’t do programs for this reason. I just couldn’t bear the thought of seeing them in the trash! Nice work!

Could you tell me what size cardstock you bought and what size your programs ended up being (in terms of inches)? I would love to mimic this style and even bought stamps and a paper trimmer today - eek!
