I am a rabid knitter, except recently, wedding projects have replaced my yarn and needles. I’ve been fiercely independent since the age of 2 and 30 years later I think my family and friends had given up on me settling down and getting married. Ironically, I had to go all the way to Seattle to find a boy from Purdue. We fell in love over Seattle Beers and cooking together. I love NASCAR, he loves Legos. Here We Go Again: Inspiration

September 21st, 2010 @ 10:05 am by Mrs. Pretzel

You’ve just had the most amazing wedding and reception. Every detail fell into place beautifully. You’re basking in the glow of newlywed-ness and then you realize that you have a second party to plan. CRAP!

Mr P and I quickly realized that we weren’t going to re-purpose our brightly colored summer wedding style for our November party in Indiana. We did however want to re-purpose some of the elements. The first place we could start was with our colors. Pink, green, and aqua blue didn’t scream fall to us. But we could certainly work with orange. A quick search gave me lots of rustic orange wedding inspiration.

This whetted my appetite for rustic fall party. I consulted one of my favorite color websites, to look for a color scheme.

Using the accented analogic feature I set the primary color to orange and *BAM* we had a color scheme. Not too shabby—we are able to reuse two of our five wedding colors! I guess technically Kraft was our “other wedding color” so it’s more like three  of our five colors are recycled.

Mr P loves the color scheme and I’m excited, too. We’re not stopping with reusing wedding colors—much of our decor are second- (or third-) use items. We have milk glass vases that already made appearances at our wedding and at Mrs Hot Dog’s wedding, canning jars from our rehearsal dinner, burlap runners purchased from Mrs Bear Cub, and wood slices purchased right off of the Weddingbee Classifieds. I think it is safe to say our vision is starting to come together.

Are you reusing items from your wedding for a hometown reception?

I LOVE those colours together, they are quite literally all of our colours for our wedding next weekend… EEK it’s actually next weekend! I think they look incredible together! I’ll post some pictures so everyone (including you) can see it all together. Our girls are in Turquoise, boys are in kraft tuxes and all our accents are in the autumn colour scheme!! GREAT choice (If I do say so myself haha)

Here We Go Again: Drinks On Me! | Weddingbee

[...] With the guest- and family-table linens selected, we moved our attention to the cocktail tables. If you know anything about the Pretzels, you know that we love beer. Of paramount importance—a perfect place for our guests to rest their glasses of Leinenkugel’s Fireside Nut Brown. YUM, I can’t wait to tap that keg! Oh, I digress! Our venue offers black spandex cocktail-table covers…not really fitting with our rustic fall-themed party. [...]
