Mrs. Lioness's Picture
Mrs. Lioness, Atlanta Age and Occupation: 25, Physical Therapist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Attorney Engagement Date: August 29, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: Anthony’s Fine Dining About Me: I’m a Southern girl with New England roots. I say "wicked" and "y’all" in the same sentence and I like to drink sweet tea with my lobster. Mr. Lion and I are both former Floridians now living in Atlanta, which fortunately is still SEC country...Go Gators! We both love baseball, coffee, traveling, cooking, and playing Words with Friends with each other on our iPhones all day long. I’m very passionate about the things and the people I love, and I tend to plan things with all of my heart...our wedding, of course, is no different! Oh, and also Mr. Lion is a first generation American of Cuban descent. I may look more like Lucy than Ricky, but I’m doing my best to incorporate some Latin elements into our vintage-garden-Southern wedding!

E-Pics: My Turn!

September 21st, 2010 @ 8:08 am by Mrs. Lioness

Y’all didn’t think I’d let Mr. Lion get away with exclusively UCF e-pics, did you?  Of course, we had to stop by the Swamp, too!  Now, Mr. Lion will tell you that the Gators mean nothing to him, but this is simply not true.  We first met in Gainesville, and we made many wonderful memories there during the first two years of our relationship.  That town will always hold a special place in our hearts.  So we left Orlando, headed up to Gainesville, and stopped to smile for a few more photos.

Have you incorporated your alma mater into your wedding plans? How so?

I love the pics. The only way we incorporated our alma mater was to avoid football season for our date. Even the ministers will tell you, people don’t like to show up for a wedding when the Huskers are playing.

We’re getting married at our alma mater, Notre Dame.

And like tksjewelry, we crossed off all of the football weekends first thing when picking a date. They got crossed off before the weekends of my graduation and FSIL’s even!

That is really cute!
I’ll be honest my second thought (after the cuteness) was “No way I’m getting my picture taken at Floyd Casey”. Too many sore feelings after going on the field in a wool uniform when the new turf already made it 110 (easily). Maybe after my graduation we’ll get pictures with the Judge Baylor Statue for our 6 month wedding anniversary.

I wish we could have taken pictures at our university…maybe it can be the site of an anniversary shoot.

Oh my goodness - love those pics! We are actually heading to our University this coming Monday night for some e-pics of our own! I am very excited because we are starting in the chaos of the bus loop surrounded by the older buildings - where we used to say good-bye to each other every night on our way home from classes!

Honestly, no, we haven’t incorporated any of our old schools into our wedding. My university honestly doesn’t mean a whole lot to me. I’m proud to have a degree, and I’m happy I went where I went, but I was never very involved in the school spirit side of things. I’ve never been a sports fan, so that holds nothing for me.

I think I’m inviting more people from high school than university!

What great pictures! Even though we won’t be incorporating our alma maters (UF for me, UGA for him) into our photos, I get chills every time I see photos of The Swamp. Go Gators!!

That is such a cute pic by the french fries! Our OOT bags will be split between Gator and Rutgers themed, we’re letting our guests choose which bag they want.

tksjewelry: as a fellow Husker fan I know exactly what you mean!! Never schedule any event in Nebraska during a Husker game!

Beautiful pics!

The only detail I ever cared about for my future wedding was that I wanted to get married at my alma mater. I’m going with my mom to check it out Friday (for excitement’s sake, we already know it’s definite) and then I can put my application for our dates in next week. I can’t wait!

As for my FI’s alma mater, we’re actually going to his cousin’s wedding there in two weeks so I’m definitely scoping it out as a possibility for the reception!

@jordynrose @Knubbsy-Wubbsy: I love the idea of using an alma mater for an anniversary shoot!

@tksjewelry @BunnyBunz: So true. One of the main reasons we chose a spring wedding was because it would not interfere with football season.

@Mrs. Pin Cushion @Mrs. Buttons: Thank you thank you!

You are so pretty! I love that you are reppin’ your school. Mr. G, being British, just doesn’t understand and would never let me get away with this!
