Mrs. Argyle, St. Louis Age and Occupation: 24, Project Coordinator Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Pilot Engagement Date: February 15, 2009 Wedding Date: September 2010 Venue: Jewel Box in Forest Park and Windows on Washington About Me: I'm a true Midwestern girl (born and raised), lover of red wine, reality TV and the entire J.Crew catalog. I love to dance regardless of who is watching, and enjoy a good laugh with my girls. I have a soft spot in my heart for planet Earth, my two dogs and my fiance. Fall is my favorite season (which is why we are marrying in September), but I love a warm summer day and the Colorado mountains in the winter. We are planning a modern soiree downtown, with lots of bold colors, and fun, eco-friendly elements.

Goodies for the Guests

September 22nd, 2010 @ 3:51 pm by Mrs. Argyle

I went back and forth between making goody bags for our out of town guests. And, I finally decided to go for it when I had a grand idea. Instead of using gift bags from Target, why not put all of the goodies in reusable grocery bags so guests can take the bags home, rather than toss them. I bought 30 red reusable bags from One Bag One Earth and filled them with an array of goodies.

Momma Argyle was nice enough to pay for all of the stuff in the bags, and she surely didn’t want me to skimp. So, we ended up with:

  • Two bottles of water
  • 1 bar of Bissinger’s chocolate
  • SunChips
  • Ritz Bitz crackers
  • Candy bar (Snickers, 3 Musketeers, Twix or Milky Way)
  • Nutrigrain bar
  • Breakfast pastry
  • Breath mints
  • Twizzlers
  • Lorna Doons
  • Mini M&Ms
  • Fruit snacks

And, a little info packet for our guests featuring details on what’s going on during the wedding weekend, and where to grab a bite to eat.

Did you make out of town bags for your hotel guests? (And, yes I know the above photo is upside down…)

Those are great OOT bags! I love the idea of just using re-usable bags - and they’re very cute too!

Yeah, rock on for moms, cuz my mom’s paying for most of the stuff in ours too! We’re putting packets of Swiss Miss (tee hee) mints and key chains from where I grew up/where my folks live now, Mr. Swiss and I’s fave Halloween candies, water, slippers, soaps, advil..etc, etc! And we’re also doing the reusable shopping bags, yay Earth! :)

Mmm . . . good choices. Food is always the best option for gifts, in my opinion! And you picked delicious snacks. (And they bags are cute, to boot!)

We made them for our daughter’s wedding in Chicago. Added some fun things to do there and added in a wedding day itinerary too.. cheap and easy to do - here is how they turned out:http://www.celebrationideasonline.com/wedding-gift-bags-for-out-of-town-guests.html
