Our Little Chubby Mini-Wedding…

Or at least that’s what my dear husband has been calling baby Jelly Beans’ 1st birthday celebration, since I came up with the idea of having a mini-soiree for her birthday. And I thought planning our wedding was hard work. Try planning a wedding…errr…I mean birthday party with a super happy and rambunctious almost-1-year old. It made our wedding planning seem like a walk in a meadow of flowers & butterflies.

The combination of ex-bride-to-be and my type-A tendencies made me determined to do everything myself, with the help of Mr Jelly Beans, of course. I designated naptimes & bedtime as my craft time—meaning I haven’t slept in over a month. *Yawn*

So much has changed since our wedding 3 years ago. And by changed, I mean there are bigger and grander crafts and ideas. Visions of sugar, vintage candy, pink and sparkly things were dancing through my head. I’m not going to lie to you—Mr JB was scared…very scared!

Mr Jelly Beans is buried under all the poms that he lovingly crafted with his own two hands… it’s no wonder I married this man!

Looks awesome! How did you get your poms to look so full? I followed the Martha Stewart directions and mine came out a little flat. How many sheets of tissue paper did you use? Thanks!

I just went through the same thing…. I did a HUGE 1st bday party for my little girl… let me tell you it was exhausting.. but soooo much fun!!! ENJOY!

Thanks ladies! Just got the pics back and I am super happy with them….

Regarding the poms: I have to give full credit to Mr JB. He made all of them. He followed the instructions on the Martha Stewart Website. We used 10 sheets per pom. And those felt ties. It took him 30 minutes (yes.. he timed it) per pom. Maybe the trick is in pulling them. Cuz he took his time doing that… Good luck!
